Blyth's only goal of the night.
Wingham was able to score one

game ended with a 4-1 victory for
Wingham Gift Chest.
Blyth's defensive players for the

There was excellent weather for
Wednesday morning senior mens at
the Wingham Curling Club.
Seventeen were out for golfing
action.
It seems that there was a swarm
of 500 or more small black flies for
every golfer and they spoiled more
than one shot.
Rumour was that Wayne Gordon
had a two but such was not the case
although he did par all three par
threes and walked away with the
top prize.
Bill Dauphin paired the first and
last holes and captured second
prize with Clayton Ruppel
capturing third prize, just a week
before his 86th birthday.
The lone birdie of the day was
recorded by Ken Saxton, as he
birdied that tough ninth hole.

Boy, Wednesday men's night
seems to be growing in popularity
with no less than 32 on hand.
Competition was keen.
The best nine of the season was
recorded as Steve West racked up
eight pars and a birdie on number
four to come in with a 34, one
under par. Great game Steve.
Belgrave's Ashley Higgins

Super seniors Roy Bennett and
Denis Langridge report seeing a
very small deer no larger than a fox
from the fifth hole.
Have you seen the orioles and
goldfinches? The woodpeckers
have been heard but not seen and
the hummingbirds are back around
those hanging baskets on the patio.
The birdhouses all have no vacancy
as the swooping swallows have
more than two to one in the first two
innings. Belgrave gained strength in
the last two innings outscoring
Ethel.
Pitching for Ethel were Ben
Hruska, Pearson Smith, Isaac Baker.
They played their positions, very
well. They dominated the field and
scored five goals in the first half of
the game.
Just before the halftime whistle,
were called on both teams. There
were some rough moments too, as a
Wingham player had the wind
knocked out of him in a collision
and a Blyth player had a ball kicked
right at her face.
At halftime, Thunder changed
them all occupied.
Did you notice the numerous
white trilliums blowing behind..the
fifth tee? There's lots of nature to
observe at the golf course. Not to
forget those big jumping fish near
the ladies fifth tee.

Wow! Buff's Thursday night
gang saw over 30 out for golf.
There was quite a variety of scores
with one in the 30s and one in the
60s.
Terry Powell shot a 39 for top
spot. Dean Tiffin had a lot of
trouble with the ninth hole but did
manage to win five skins with the
other four skins going to Dennis
Knox with a birdie on number six.
Bill Quipp won the award for the
longest putt.
