The next shoot is May 26 at 1:30 p.m. FROM BELGRAVE 20 at Community Club meeting Fundraiser Margaret Siertsema serves soup to Jean Plaetzer, Blyth during the Knox Presbyterian lunch at the Belgrave WI Hall on Saturday. The tables were full of people enjoying the hearty lunch. (carol Burns photo) The Belgrave Community Club met on May 5 with an attendance of 20, welcomed by the president Muriel Coultes. The meeting opened by singing 0 Canada with Donna Shaw as pianist. Mrs. Coultes read .a story, I Love Dandelions. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Gladys Van Camp. Laura Johnston gave the treasurer's report. Mrs. Coultes gave a report of the seniors spring rally which was held in Dungannon and attended by ,11 Many friends and relations were present on Sunday, May 14, Mother's Day, for baptism, transfer of membership and dedication of a pulpit Bible, in Knox United Church, Belgrave. Rev. Ethel Miner Clare welcomed everyone and Elizabeth Stennett played the organ, in the absence of the regular orgaiist, Elizabeth Procter. The flowers on the carillon had been placed there in memory of the late Pearl Wheeler by Velma Wheeler. The plant on the piano was placed there in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith by their daughter Irene Lamont. The junior choir, under the leadership of Lila Procter, sang The Forgiveness Song and God is Bigger than the Boogie Man. Two new members were received by transfer of membership: Janice Marks from Brussels United Church and Ronald Taylor from Cowan Heights United Church, St. John's, Nfld. They were welcomed on behalf of the congregation by Joyce Vincent. members from Belgrave. Barbara Anderson introduced those who were presenting a musical program, Burt and Carol Pepper and friendS. Violin selections were played by three of Burt's pupils, Marie McIntosh, Nancy Park and Barb Machan. John McIntosh sang several songs, accompanied by Carol at the keyboard. . Burt played some of his own violin compositions. The next meeting will be on Friday, June 2 with a program arranged by Kay Roberts. Members of the Sunday school told the children's story by using puppets. The theme of the story was about giving, and those taking part were Matthew Cottrill, Cole McKee, Drew McKee, Emily Stennett, Kathleen Stennett and Brianne Yuill. The Sunday school children then remained in the sanctuary for the baptism of Kurtis Robert Marks, son of Janee and Darryl Marks of Belgrave. The clerk of session, Mrs. Vincent, then presented the family with a candle for Kurtis, a book from the Afternoon Fellowship and his baptismal certificate. Family members of the late Mrs. May Rinn were present for the dedication of a pulpit Bible given by them to the church in their mother's memory. Meagan Pletch read the scripture lesson. Rev. Miner Clare's sermon was entitled To Be a Witness. The offering was received by Steve Nixon and Donald Shiell. The UCW general meeting was announced for Thursday, May 18 at 8 p.m. with the Calvin Brick Unit in charge. Special service at Knox United
