HCCAPC holds workshops Read on Moms and Dads, learn tips and new skills to interact effectively with your children. The Huron County Child Abuse Prevention Committee (HCCAPC) brings a new Children's Behaviour Awareness and Information Mini- Series this spring. All workshops will be held at the Clinton Public School in Clinton from 7 p.m. — 9 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Tuesday, May 23 is Food and Behaviour. What's the Connection? Andrea Gingerich, BSc., ND speaks on food sensitivities and the effects that they may have on .children's behaviour. Ask questions about triggers and additives. Tuesday, June 6 is the CPRI Brakeshop, "Leaky Brakes" 101. Dr. B. Duncan McKinlay, PhD., C. Psych. talks on behaviours associated with Tourette's Syndrome, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Sensory Processing Dysfunction and Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Tuesday, June 13 is Parents Supporting Parents, Sharing Experiences. This is an open forum for parents to share their experiences. Children who have challenging behaviours can frustrate and tire a parent out. Join this informal gathering and chat about the joys and challenges of parenting. The Rural Response for Healthy Children Program is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. Students across Ontario participate in the Forest of Trees Reading Program, an Ontario Library Association initiative and vote on their favourite book.
