The old Blyth Library location
adjacent to Memorial Hall will be
hoome to a special display.
It was noted in North Huron's
council agenda of May 3, that North
Huron Museum curator Jodi Jerome
had asked permission to set up a
display depicting Blyth history in
the space. A group of Blyth citizens
will assist with the exhibit which
will consist of donated and
borrowed items.
Jerome will also be working with
the Blyth Festival to develop
displays on themes of plays at the
Festival.
The exhibit will be open to the
public but will be unstaffed with a
donation box at the door.
Council also approved a request
from the Blyth Legion asking to use
a section of the old library for
storage of hospital equipment,
which they loan out.

and ask for EXtension 2001.
Callers are asked to leave their
name, phone number and full
address (including 911 number and

bird's location.
The health unit can submit only
some birds for laboratory testing. As
a result, they will not be picking up
tall dead crows and blue jays.
Health unit staff will arrange for
pick-up if a certain bird is to be sent
to the laboratory. All bother dead
birds should be discarded safely.
Do not touch dead birds with your
bare hands — protect yourself with
gloves or plastic bags. Be sure to
bury the bird at least two feet deep in
an area where it will not be disturbed
by animals. Or, you can double-bag
the bird and put it out with your
household garbage.
After handling a dead bird, wash
your hands thoroughly with soap and
water.
Remember, the best way to reduce
mosquitoes is to control the areas
where they breed.
"Look around your home, cottage
or business, and clean up places that
are potential mosquito breeding
sites," says public health inspector
Paul Dawson.
"Piles of leaves, clogged
eavestroughs, tires, rubbish, and
debris may all collect water and
become a mosquito breeding
ground."
