THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MAY 11, 2006. Obituaries ANTJE VERBURG The Lord took our mother Antje (deJoode) Verburg to her eternal rest on Saturday, May 6, 2006. She was in her 92nd year. She was the beloved wife of the late Johannes Verburg (1989). She is survived by her friend Doeke Buffinga. Mrs. Verburg is the loving mother of Peta and John Branderhorst of Hensall, Janie and Martin Wilts of Londesborough, Koos and Rita Verburg of RR1, Auburn, Tony and Roely Verburg of RRI, Auburn, Wilma and John Hessels of RR2, Clinton and John and Margaret Verburg of Londesborough. She was the grandmother of 22 and great- grandmother of 49. She was the dear sister of Cor Bos of Alberta, Adrianna Uyl of Blyth, Freda Uyl of Clinton, Jannie Vanden Dool, and Wim deJoode both of the Netherlands. Mrs. Verburg was predeceased by an infant grandson (1966), and by nine sisters and brothers. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Centre of the Falconer Funeral Homes, 407 Queen St., Blyth on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church, Blyth on Tuesday, May 9 at 11 a.m. Interment was in Hope Chapel Cemetery, Hullett Twp. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation or Goderich Community Living would be greatly appreciated. DOROTHY CATHERINE JOHNSTON Mrs. Dorothy Johnston of RR2, Bluevale, passed away at Palmerston District Hospital on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. She was 78. She was the beloved wife of the late Fleming Edgar Johnston who predeceased her in 2005. She was the dear mother of Wayne and Mary Johnston of Edmonton, Bonnie Cronyn of RRI, Wingham, Larry Johnston of RR2, Bluevale, Linda and Jim Stinson of Thornbury, Kathy Johnston and friend Wayne Hartung of Kitchener and Laurie and Doug , Chapman of RR2, Bluevale. She was the sister of Mary Campbell of Wingham, Lois Rea of Port Credit. Ken Mason of Wingham and Robert Mason of Sarnia. Mrs. Johnston will also be lovingly remembered by I I gr andchildren and one great- grandson. She was predeceased by her parents John and Ethel (Clark) Mason, three brothers and one sister. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial services were held at the funeral chapel on Friday at I p.m. Pastor Joan Tuchlinsky officiated. Mrs. Johnston's final resting place is in Wingham Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
