BLYTH UNITED CHURCH
Greeting at Blyth United Church
on May 7 were Lois van Vliet and
Judy Gleave. Ushering were Terry
Richmond, Joann MacDonald and
Rob Mason. Guest organist was
Margaret Kai.
Deb Hakkers and Marilyn Craig
Prayer was sung with the children
doing the actions. Kourtney Taggart
held the candle to be lit and taken
down to Sunday school.
011ie Craig read the scriptures and
led the Psalm 23 with everyone
singing the refrain. The scriptures
were from John 10: 11-18 and I John
3: 16-24.
Rev. McGauley's message to the-
adults was, The Lord Is. My.
Shepherd. The 23rd Psalm is heard
the most often at funerals as it is one
of the most comforting passages of
-the Bible.
In Biblical times the King was
considered the shepherd of his
subjects. He was to look after his
people but sometimes that was not
the case. -
With God as our shepherd we shall
not want, said Rev. McGauley. God
has provided for us. Because God is
our shepherd we need not be afraid.
God will keep us on the right path
and if we stray, He will lead us
back.]
