succeeded, after a long discussion in car-

our own county. While in Winnipeg I
visited Piel's grave, at . St. Boniface and
the penitentiary, at Stoney Mountain,
here I saw one of the rebel Indian leaders,
I forget his name. Winnipeg is a great
city and surprises every person who visit
it. It has now a population of some
35,000 and is growing rapidly. The City
hall is said'to be the finest, .building of
the kind in Canada. The Fust Office,,

are also very handsome edifices. I left

Having recentlyreturned from a 'trip

territories, on Orange Business. I take
this opportunity ctg;ivingyou some in -
farmers excursion.on the 7th of Auguust,
in company with.Bro's J. H. Young, O.
M. of Iii oriel Huron and J. Edge C. M.
South Grey. We had a very pleasant
trip up and went,as far west as Begina.
1 might say before passing, that on the
evening we lett Toronto, the Grand
Orange Demonstration in honor of the
Grand Master Wallace took place, and I
must say it was really magnificent. The
Splendid marching and attractive uniform
of the different drill corps and the fancy
drill and movements executed by the pro-
cession, made it the finest sight I ever
have witnessed. The streets were lined
with thousands of spectators, and there
must have been fully six thousand in line.
