At the Branch
Writer extends apology to Lowe family
By Jo-Ann McDonald
\11+ apologies first. I received
miormation about the passing of
Doug Lowe. This information was
,%i-ong, incorrect, not right.
My sincere- apology to the Lowe
families, relatives and friends on the
reporting of this mistake. Relatives
were quick to inform me that Doug
is alive and well. I apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused.
Deepest sympathy is extended to
the family and friends of the
Canadian soldiers killed in
Afghanistan last week. Special
prayers go out to the family of
Matthew Dinning in Wingham.
The tragedies suffered in the
Canadian participation in
Afghanistan are distant to us, until it
is one of our own, so close to home,
ho is lost.
Any and all lives that have been
lost by Canadian troops, in any
conflicts, in years gone by or in
years to come are the painful result
of Canada's commitment to
ensuring freedom of ourselves and
others.
It is to this objective that the Royal
Canadian Legion strives to ensure
that "We Will Remember Them.-
