Congregation celebrates Easter
Christ has risen, go forth and tell
the good ,news.-... That was the
message delivered by Rev. Pat Cook
LondesbicrOugh'UnitedChureh on
Easter Sunday. She _lit the Christ
*idle, the flame that lives again.
The candle celebrates .new life,. new
jOy and new possibilities. A large
number of congregants, children and
visitors were. on „band to hear the
good news':
Two familiar Easter anthems were
sung by the senior choir that
morning, We Welcome Glad Easter
and Christ -Ato'se.
Rev. Pat and the children began
their time together by talking about a
cocoon. A cocoon houses a
Caterpillar for a period of time while

butterfly dries its wings it flies off

stone at the entrance to the tomb,
they proceeded on their way with
faith. However they were frightened
when they arrived and found the
tomb opened and Christ's body
gone. They were so afraid they did
not want to share their experience
with anyone but the disciples.
Rev. Cook asked, "Are we afraid
to tell Christ's story in our lives with
others?"
Once Christ commissioned the
disciples to go out into the world
they were ready to tell the good
news. Now Christians, too, must
make a fresh start this Easter and
share the Easter story. Jesus did not
let the tomb stop His work of telling
the story of God's love.
Likewise Rev. Cook suggests that
