season 39-14-17; Waterloo
Tournament Champions and a

Provincials.

2006 Dog Tags and licenses are now available
(Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm)
at the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry Municipal Office,
41342 Morris Rd.
R.R. 4,
Brussels, ON

***Tags can be picked up in person or ordered by telephone***
All dogs must be licensed in compliance with By-law No. 63-2004.
A copy of the complete By-law is available for review at the
Municipal Office. All dogs must be identified by means of a tag and
license, issued for a (1) one year period by:
Friday, April 28, 2006
The fee schedule shall be as follows:
1/ All Dogs (except those listed in #2)
- males, females, and spayed females $20.00 per dog
2/ Pit bulls, Pit bull crosses, Staffordshire terriers $100.00 per dog
3/ Kennel License Fee $75.00
(for a kennel of dogs that are registered or eligible for
registration under the Animal Pedigree Act)
4/ Late Payment Charge $20.00 per dog
(Shall be assessed in addition to the license fee,
if the license and/or tag is not purchased by April 28th)
Excrement:
The By-law requires dog owners to forthwith remove excrement left by a
dog, from property other than the premises of the owner of the dog. Any
person contravening this provision is subject to a $50.00 fee.

Tryouts set for Lightning
Turn off the TV
screens and win
From April 24-28, the Huron
County Health Unit and Take Heart
Huron challenge students, school
staff, and their families to Turn Off
the Screens!
During Turn Off the Screens
Week, students and school staff are
encouraged to be active and explore
me world around them.
By _turning off televisions, video
games, and computers (except for
use with homework), participants
,..an win great prizes. The grand prize
is a $150 gift certificate for sports
equipment.
Many other przes, including gift
certificates. T-shirts, and Frisbees
'are available to he won by students.
One school staff person will win a
's50 gift certificate for an Eat Smart!
restaurant in Huron County.
To help students, school staff.
and their families turn off their
screens, local physical activity
events are being held throughout the
week.
It's easy to participate. Every
elementary student and staff person
will receive a log sheet from their

school. Each day during Turn Off
the Screens Week, participants
record what activity they did instead
of the TV or computer.
A parent or guardian must sign the
log sheets to make sure the student
was screen-free for all five days.
All completed sheets returned to
the school or the Health Unit by

draw for prizes.
Physical activity resources will be
awarded to each elementary school
where 25 per cent or more of
students and staff participate.

five-day recess from the electronic
world. It's about having fun and
being active in the real world'

Another hockey season is over,
but the Saugeen Maitland Women's
Hockey Association is already
getting players in place for 2006-
2007.
The tryouts for PeeWees, born in
1994 or 1995 will be held I p:m.
Saturday April 22 and Sunday, April
23 in Lucknow. There will be
another tryout in Durham, at 7 p.m.,
Friday. April 28.
The dates are the same for the
Bantam tryouts. This is for players
born in 1992 or 1993. The times on
those days are 2 p.m. in Lucknow
and 8 p.m. in Durham.
Girls born in 1989, 1990 or 1991
are eligible to play for the Midget
teams. Tryouts will be held at 3 p.m.
on the Lucknow dates and at 9 p.m.
in Durham.
Cost for the first two age groups is
Brussels Midget girls played their
WOAA year-end tournament in
Wallace April I and 2.
The first game was Saturday
morning against Walkerton. Brussels
lost a competitive effort 2-1. Lacey
McArter scored Brussels' only goal.
Saturday afternoon Brussels had a
more rewarding game winning
against Beaver Valley 1-0. Lindsey
Watson scored assisted by Jory Uyl.
Sunday afternoon it was the third
and final game against Saugeen
Shores. Many of the girls's fans
mentioned that this was one of the
team's best efforts of the season.
There was exciting action from all
Brussels players and the squad won
4-2.
Scoring were Ashley Sholdice,
Uyl, and Colleen Aitchison with
two. What a way to end the season.
$10, while the tryout cost for
Midget is $15.
