problem not going away

It's a big problem that's not going
to go away for long, long time.
That was the message delivered to
North Huron councillors April 3 by
Verna Steffler and Kerri Herrfort on
behalf of the physician recruitment
committee for Wingham hospital.
Steffler opened her presentation
by recognizing the concern of
council regarding the committee's
request for funding assistance. "We
know that every municipality is a
little concerned about money. But

providing doctors is not just a
hospital situation. The whole
community needs to be involved.

In the budget, the feeder
municipalities of Howick, Ashfield-
Colborne-Wawanosh, North Huron,
Morris-Turnberry, South Bruce and
Huron-Kinloss are broken down by
hospital usage, then a dollar value is
attached.

Sympathy is extended to Sue,
Amanda, Nicole, Allan Bailie and
family in the death of a husband,
father and grandfather, Clarence
Bailie who passed away April 11 in
London Health Sciences Centre,
Westminster Campus.
Sorry to hear Mary Walden is a
patient in Wingham and District
Hospital.
We wish Pat Bernard a speedy
recovery after undergoing surgery at
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital, Goderich.
Joan Campbell and her daughter
Sharon from Nova Scotia are
visiting with relatives in the area.
Blyth Swinging Seniors will meet
on April 26 with a potluck lunch at
noon. Musical entertainment is from
Staffa.

Greeting at Blyth United Church
on April 16 were Lois van Vliet and
Tom Dunbar. Ushering were Lois
van Vliet, Emily Phillips, Karen
Glousher and Rob Mason. Guest
organist was Margaret Kai.
Rev. McGauley welcomed
everyone to church on Easter
Sunday.
The choir proceeded with a
cantata, Lord of Glory by Stan
Pethel with Rev. Robin McGauley
and Steven Sparling being the
readers. Special music during the
cantata were duets by Avon and
Dane Corneil and Cheryl Cronin and
Avon Corneil.
Rev. McGauley conducted the
communion service. Those serving
were Myrtle Badley, Joan Clark,
Lois van Vliet, Doug Howson, Judy
Gleave and Randy Fraser.
