Obituaries
DAVID GEORGE STANLEY
BOYNTON
David George Stanley Boynton of
Brussels passed away peacefully
at home with his family by his
side on Sunday, March 26,
2006. Born in Victoria Square on
Sept. 19, 1934, David was in his
72nd year.
David was the beloved husband of
Jeanette (Hoover) Boynton. He was
the dear father of Jody Boynton and
his partner Korby Banner of Toronto
and Jeff Boynton and his wife
Nicole of High River, Alberta. He
was the loving grandfather of Erin.
David was the dear brother of
Lawrence Boynton and his wife
Audrey of Toronto, Jim Boynton and
his wife Ruth of Jackson's Point and
Don Boynton and his wife Dorothy
of Markham. He was also loved by
his nieces, nephews and many
friends.
Sisters Marion Sandle, Grace
Boynton and Helen Canning
predeceased him.
Friends were received by the
family from 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday at
the Schimanski Family Funeral
Home. The funeral service was
conducted from Brussels United
Church on Friday, March 31 at 3
p.m. with Sandra Cable and Joan
Golden officiating.

The regular meeting of Morning
Star Rebekah lodge was held March
28 with Noble Grand Sister Jane
Hall presiding.
Sister Ne 1 va Scott reported
visiting some shut-ins.
A birthday card for Sister Debris
Wheeler was signed by everyone
and will be sent to Seaforth hospital
where she is a patient.
Sister Joan Bernard reported
another successful card party was
held. The proceeds from these
events are donated to charities such
as eye research, the fall fair,
Christmas Bureau, Huron Perth
Children's Camp and others.
District Deputy President Shirley
Cooper paid her official visit on
March 14.
Sisters Jane Hall and Elva Brown
reported on the District meeting
which was held March 27 at Exeter.
Nominations are being held for
the officers next year.
Lunch and a social time was
enjoyed by all.
Pallbearers were Frank Workman,
Howard Bernard, Ralph Watson,
Mike Mulligan, Keith Gaiser and Dr.
Doug Hoover.
Cremation with interment in
Brussels Cemetery will be at a later
date.
As an expression of sympathy,

the oncology department of the
London Regional Cancer. Centre,
Brussels United Church or to the

CATHERINE MERLE. CLARE
Mrs. Merle Clare of Clinton
passed away at her residence on
Friday, March 31, 2006. She was 92.
The former Merle Mallery was the
beloved wife of the late Cecil
Thomas Clare who predeceased her
in 1985. She was the beloved mother
of Dr. Sanford Clare and his wife
Rev. Ethel Miner Clare of Belgrave,
and grandmother of Cathy, Mary and
Trevor, Christy and Steve and
Heather. Mrs. Clare was also
survived by six great-grandchildren
and her sister-in-law Verna Mallery
of Duncan, BC.

She was predeceased by her sons
Harold James (1994), John Michael

Mallery (2000) and an infant
grandson in 1975.
From 1960 to 1999 Mrs. Clare
lived in Vancouver. During her time
there she was involved in St. Mathias
and St. Helen's Anglican Churches
and was a member of the Order of
St. Luke. She was past Worthy
Matron of West Point Grey Chapter,
Order of Eastern Star in 1970-71,
and an active member of Daughters
of the Nile.
Interment services will be held at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park,
Burnaby, BC on Monday, April 10 at
10 a.m. Rev. Ethel Miner Clare will
be officiating.
Memorial donations to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or
the Canadian Food Grains Bank
would be appreciated as expressions
of sympathy and may be placed

DOROTHEA MCARTER
Dorothea Louise (Tichborne)
McArter of Brussels passed away at
Braemar Retirement Centre,
Wingham, on Saturday, April 1,
2006. Born in Goderich Twp. on
Nov. 17, 1924, Dorothea was in her
82nd year.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Donald Keith McArter.
Dorothea was the dear mother of
Murray McArter and his wife Gayle,
Joan Cloakey and her husband Doug
and Paul McArter and his wife
Tracey all of Brussels. She was also
loved by her seven grandchildren;
Becky, Sarah, Matthew, Janisa,
Carter, Ryan and Konrad, and her
three great-grandchildren Garrett,
Morgan and Seth, and sisters-in-law
Florence McArter and Jean
Davidson.
She was predeceased by her
daughter Cathy Snyder and her
husband Doug, brother Bill, sister
Viola Bell, and brothers-in-law Bill
McArter and Cal Davidson.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Monday at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home, where the service
was conducted on Tuesday, April 4
at 2 p.m. with Sandra Cable of
Brussels United Church officiating.
Carrying floral tributes were
grandchildren Ryan, Janisa, Becky
and Sarah. Pallbear9rs were Mike
Golley, Jim McLean, Matt Snyder,
Glen Bridge, Danny McKay and
Carter Cloakey.
Interment was in Brussels
Cemetery.
