Agriculture Brussels Livestock report 2,808 head of cattle on offer at sale Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending Mar. 31 were 2,808 head of cattle, 1.012 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold steady to last week. Choice steers and heifers sold $93 to $97 with sales to $100.25. Second cut sold $90 to $94. Cows sold steady to last week. On Thursday the veal sold $5 to $8 lower to last week. The lambs sold $10 to $15 higher to last week on a strong demand. On Friday the calves and yearlings sold on a market steady to last week. There were 582 steers on offer. Art Bos, Blyth, consigned two steers averaging 1,400 lbs. for $97.29. His top blonde steer sold for $100.25 weighing 1,475 lbs. Three steers consigned by David Bowles, Brussels, sold averaging 1,483 lbs. for $95.79. His top limousin steer sold for $100 weighing 1,450 lbs. Their class decided to dress up coffee cans with pictures of food, make up a little slogan for each and ask the congregation to take them home. This past week most of the cans were returned to the church, with a total collection of $430 in them.
