Back-up singers
Some students at Hullett Central Public School had the unique privilege of performing on
stage at Blyth Memorial Hall with The Cobblestones and Bobby Evans. The Newfoundland
group contacted the school regarding "back-up singers." A total of 26 students volunteered to
be part of the choir, also comprised of students from Kingsbridge school. The students sang
some of the group's most notable tunes with them, including Feet of a Dancer and September

Gang discusses upcoming events
Following the noon potluck meal
at the Londesborough Community
Hall on Wednesday, March 29,
president Phyllis Tyndall welcomed
all of the Londesborough Happy
Gang Seniors who were in
attendance. Before beginning the
business, she read two items from
the March edition of the seniors'
Some of you may recall, I'm sure
the affected pupils do, that in spite of
an alternate date, the Grade 7 and 8
ski trip in the winter of 2005 was
finally cancelled because of poor
weather. As a result the young folk
were hoping that this year's trip
wold be a go.
Early in March pupils from Hullett
did get a day of skiing in at Talisman
mountain. The bus full of pupils,
teachers, Mr. Caldwell and Mrs.
VandenHeuvel, and volunteer
parents was driven by Hullett bus
driver, Adrian Salverda.

magazine, The Voice.
It was noted that the group had
received correspondence from the
Alzheimer Society, Children for
Chernobyl and United Senior
Citizens of Ontario. Upcoming
functions for the members were
discussed.
The April meeting on Wednesday,
the day:
"On Wednesday, March 8 at 6:30
a.m. Hullett Grade 7 and 8 students
headed off on a two-hour bus ride to
Talisman. We were greeted by our
instructor at 9 a.m. He showed us
where we would be eating lunch and
gave us our day pass stickers and
rental slips. Once we got our ski
boots, a helmet and skis, we were on
our own.
There were two different hills to
ski on. The green one is for those
who have a green card. To ski on the
steeper and larger hills, one has to
take a test at the bunny hill to get an
April 26 will be held at the Betty
Cardno Centre in Clinton and at the
May 25 meeting the group will be
entertaining the seniors from Varna.
Plans have been made for a bus
trip on May 29 to see the Walters
family.
The Seniors spring rally will be
held in Dungannon on May 4. Judith
orange card. The green hill is for
beginners and the orange card is for
the more advanced skiers.

organization helps seniors in
Ontario.
The Londesborough Seniors were
pleased to have two pupils from
Hullett Central Public School on
hand last Wednesday to share the
speeches which had been judged
some of the best in the school's
recent contest.
Courtney Middegaal, from Grade
5 reminisced about her cats, Puss
and Boots. An explanation of how
one might understand her moods
was given by Lexi Aitkin froth
Grade 3.
Walk in the Light was the theme
of the message offered by Rev. Pat
Cook at Londesborough United
Church on Sunday, April 2.
The supporting Old Testament
passage was Jeremiah 31: 31-34 an
account of the making of a new
covenant by God with the children
of Israel.
In John 12: 20-23 and 35-36,
Jesus speaks to Andrew and Philip
