Park but said he didn't need any-
thing himself although he was grate-
ful for all of the help he has received
so far.
After receiving media attention
about his cause on several large
media outlets including CityTV,
CTV and CBC radio, Toronto police
asked Webster to move his car
because he could not sleep in it
overnight. Bev Hill organizer for the
Grass Roots Movement said.
"He drove around Queen's Park in
a circle in the early hours of the
morning until police told him he
was obstructing traffic," he said.
Hill added that Howard Hampton,
NDP leader, as well as John Tory,
Conservative leader, both offered
Webster their parking spots. He
parked in Hampton's spot and was
also welcomed into his office to get
warm or use the phone.
During the meeting Webster
phoned twice and just before he was
about to address the crowd his
phone was disconnected.
"For awhile now [Webster] has
suspected that he is being watched
and monitored and that his phone is
tapped," one man operating the
equipment who got a hold of
Webster said. "So that shows that
the government is scared."
Mistele said the message he got
from listening to what Webster said
was that society still values the
farmer. "We should build on that
trust," he said. "And not squander
it."
A press released issued earlier in
the week stated that there would be
a bus leaving to Queen's Park for a
rally at 8 a.m. from Hensall,
Seaforth, Mitchell, and Lucknow.
