THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2006. House fire A house fire on St. Michael's Road in Morris Twp. on Thursday, Feb. 16 damaged the second storey of the home owned by Ron Gordon. The fire was started by a plugged chimney, fire chief Paul Josling said. No one was hurt but Gordon was taken to the Wingham and District Hospital for observation. Blyth area fire-fighters arrived on the scene at 10:30 a.m. after receiving the call. A snowplow had to be called to get better access to the house but the fire trucks were able to get to the scene before the plow arrived. The roof of the house was destroyed and there is significant water damage, Josling said. The first snow day gave me the chance to do some sorting of clothes. To keep or not to keep, that is the question. Will I ever lose the weight to fit that dress again — chances are "slim". Most people have more clothes than they need, but are like me and have trouble sorting through them and saying — it has to go. The second snow day was spent catching up with the books. Trying to find everything needed for income tax and having it ready. It may not seem like it but in only 10 weeks, it will be April 30 and tax deadline time. It should also be spring and better weather. Let's just enjoy the bad weather now in February so we can enjoy spring weather in April.
