HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2006-01-26, Page 13The Corporation of the MUNICIPALITY OF HURON EAST is now accepting resumes for PUBLIC WORKS MANAGER Reporting directly to the Clerk-Administrator, the Public Works Manager is responsible to develop, get appropriate approval for, implement and administer comprehensive programs for the construction and maintenance of public roads, bridges, storm sewers, municipal drains, wastewater systems, water distribution and treatment systems, waste management systems, landfill sites and park facilities within applicable Federal and Provincial Statutes, Huron East By-Laws and approved budgets. Candidates for this position should possess: • Community College Diploma in Certified Engineering Technology (CET) • Minimum of 5 years road construction or municipal public works experience • Minimum of 3 years management experience • MOE Water/Wastewater Certificate Level II preferred • Excellent communication skills both oral and written • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and public relations skills • Experience with planning, designing and supervisory of municipal construction and maintenance • Practical experience in the financial management of a municipal department including preparation, forecasting and long-term planning • Experience in preparation of tender documents and contracts • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime • Working knowledge of the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Safety Programs The Municipality of Huron East offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefit package.
