Obituaries WILFRED "BRUCE" ROY Mr. Wilfrid "Bruce" Roy of Clinton and formerly of Hullett Twp. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006. He was in his 83rd year. He was the beloved husband of the late Agnes, (Nancy) Roy (1993) and dear companion of Genevieve Allen of Londesborough. Mr. Roy was the dear father of Bill and Pat Roy of RR I, Londesborough and loving grandfather of Michael, Jenna and Alanna Roy. He was the dear brother and brother-in-law of Peter and Vivienne Roy and Ruth Roy and husband Kurt Tauber, all of Clinton. Mr. Roy will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Bruce will also be fondly remembered by the Allen family. A brother, May Roy, and sister, Eunice Butler predeceased him. Bruce was a dedicated Pioneer Hi- Bred Limited sales representative for over 45 years and a member of the Hullett Lodge AF and AM No. 568 in Londesborough. Cremation has taken place. Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes-Ltd., 153 High St., Clinton on Friday, Jan. 6 from 6 - 9 p.m. A private family service has taken place. Interment will be at Clinton Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be apprebiated. CATHERINE ELLEN "DAISY" (ROBERTON) GILFILLAN Catherine Ellen "Daisy" (Roberton) GI !Han, formerly of Clinton and RR1, Auburn passed away at Northern Lights Manor, Flin Flon, Manitoba on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006. She was in her 90th year. She was the beloved wife of the late George Gilfillan and loving mother of Lorne and Maureen Gilfillan of Tumbler Ridge, B.C.; Ray Gilfillan of Denare Beach, Saskatchewan; Jim and Robin Gilfillan of Flin Flon, Manitoba and Gordon and Cheryl Gilfillan of Creighton, Saskatchewan. Mrs. Gilfillan was also loved by eight grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son Douglas, one daughter-in-law Lynda Gilfillan and one grandson Murray. Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., Clinton Chapel, 153 High St., Clinton on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 1:30 until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Pat Cook of Londesborough United Church officiated. Interment will be in Blyth Union Cemetery. Donations to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. JOHN JOSEPH NICHOL John Joseph Nichol of Corunna, son of Mary of Brussels and the late Glenn Nichol, passed away Dec. 27, 2005, after a three-year battle with cancer. John leaves a wife Ann and daughter Carolyne Kendrick and son-in-law Ryan. Also left to mourn are two sisters Linda Taylor and Cathy Nichol. A service will be held Jan. 15 at St. Stevens United Church, Courtright, at 2 p.m. Interment of ashes will be in Brussels cemetery. PHYLLIS PFEIFFER Phyllis Pfeiffer passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her daugbter's home in Ethel on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006. She resided in Brussels and was formerly of RR3, Wingham. Phyllis was born 74 years ago in Carrick Twp., a daughter of the late Edwin and Clara (Hihn) Waechter. She enjoyed cross-stitching, playing piano and painting ornaments for Pfeiffer's Lawn Ornaments which she. owned and operated with her late husband Otto who predeceased her in 2003. Phyllis was the loving mother of Mike and Debra Pfeiffer of Belgrave and Jane and Les Stewart of Ethel. She was the special grandma of Tom, Holly and fiancé Mario, Lindsay and Lauren. She was the dear sister of Gerald and and Margaret Waechter of Kitchener; Ruth Haig of Hamilton, Mel and Audrey Waechter of Mildmay and sister-in-law of Margita and Lothar Schwartz of Germany. Phyllis's family invited relatives and friends to share their memories at Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John St., Atwood, on Thursday, Jan. 5 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where the funeral service was held on Friday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. Rev. Steven Cox officiated. Spring interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Community Nursing Services can be made by calling the funeral home at 356- 2382. SHIRLEY JACKLIN Shirley Jacklin passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was the loving mother of Kevin and his wife Charlene Jacklin of Kitchener. She was the grandmother of Carl and Jeffrey and dear sister of Patricia of Quebec, Linda of Goderich, and Bob and Tom Jacklin, both of Kitchener. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Carl and Reita Jacklin. Shirley's family received relatives and friends from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 and Friday, Dec. 30 from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. The funeral service was 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 in the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation followed. Break-in at Huron E. residence Huron OPP are investigating at break in at a Huron East residence. Sometime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Jan. 5, a home at North Line was entered. In addition to stealing a quantity of liquor the culprits also damaged the house. The police would appreciate any assistance the public could give in this case.
