Sword said entries came in slowly at first but near the end there were hundreds from which to choose. “There were a lot of good entries. It was hard to judge,” Sword said. Sword was joined by Goderich Deputy Mayor Ellen Connelly and Signal-Star sports editor Chris Colbourne as judges for the contest. “We’re so pleased it was a success,” Connelly told a large gathering last week before the winners were announced. Entries were accepted for five categories including nature, wildlife and trails; events and attractions (including sports and recreation); urban and rural landscapes; sunrises and sunsets; and people at work and play. Peter Vandorp, of the Exeter area, took home first prize in the sunsets category. Runners-up were Goderich residents Paul Cousteils and Tina Wilson.
