Christmas donation The Christmas concert theme at East Wawanosh Public School was The Best Gift Ever and these students helped sing festive songs to encourage other students to donate to the Christmas pot and help those less fortunate. Nancy Folkard conducted the program with the members of her group taking part in a candle- lighting ceremony. Myrtle Pengally opened with a prayer, Lillian Campbell read a story, Being Home for Christmas. Mrs. Storteboom told of remembering and Donna Shaw told of the Spirit of Christmas. Mrs. Folkard related stories of gifts without a price, then the candles were lit to emphasize the stories. The January meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Wheeler. Alice Storteboom welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked Mrs. Coultes for hosting the meeting. Donna Shaw read a Christmas version of 1 Corinthian 13. Mabel Wheeler was in charge of the worship and opened with an Advent waiting song. The scripture lesson was done in the form of a quiz. with members giving answers to correspond with the biblical text. A Christmas carol quiz followed. Mrs. Wheeler closed with prayer. For the Christmas roll call. members had brought numerous items which would be given to the Christmas Bureau.
