Blyth Bears play great in volleyball tournament
By Tyler Black
On Nov. 18 the Blyth girls and boys
volleyball teams travelled to Central
Huron Secondary School for the
regional volleyball tournament. It was
an action-packed day for both of the
teams.
The Grades 6, 7 and 8 girls fought
hard and got first place. They first-
played Seaforth and beat them two
games straight. Then they went on to
face Clinton, also winning two games
straight. After that they played Huron
Centennial. They beat them two
games in a row, then went on to face
Hullett. They lost their first game,
then fought back and won the second
and third games:
The boys team consisted of all
Grade 6 players. They played hard,
but finished last. They first played
Seaforth and lost two games. They
played Clinton, Huron Centennial and
Hullett with the same results. Then
they played an exhibition game
against Huron Centennial, the Only
game they won all day.
Although the boys didn't fare very
well, they learned a lot from their
coaches, Laurie Sparling and Terri
Hamather. They're confident that their
skills will be a better match next year.
Overall, the Blyth girls and boys
competed to the best of their abilities.
Way to go, Bears!
