Obituaries
EVELYN LILLIAN FOX
Evelyn Lillian (Lamont) Fox.
passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21.
2004.
Born in Greenock Twp. -on June
17. 1925. Evelyn was in her 80th
year.
Evelyn was the oldest of 17
children born to Cole and Lillian
Lamont. The family lived in Culross
Twp. and the children attended a
one-room schoolhouse in
Ri versdale.
As a teenager. Evelyn worked on
the Mason's family farm. Later as a
young woman. Evelyn and her sister
Gladys went to Kincardine and
found work at the Circle Bar
Knitting Co.
Evelyn married Norman Maclvor
and they had a son Angus. Later in
life. Evelyn met and married Russell
The Auburn WI meeting was held
Thursday at the Auburn Community
Hall.
In the absence of the president,
Marg Fraser. the past president Betty
Archambault conducted the
meeting. Best wishes were sent to
Mrs. Fraser.
The meeting opened with the Ode,
Mary Stewart Collect and the
singing of 0 Canada.
Mrs. Archambault read a poem.

Carnations and roses decorated the
table as a tribute to Tena Empey's
birthday. The minutes were read and
adopted. The treasurer's report was
given.
On Oct. 19, nine members of the
Walkerburn Club met at the home of
co-president Jacquie McKee.
Deanna Snell opened the meeting
with two readings — Hugs and Ten
Little Members, followed by prayer.
Betty Archambault read the
minutes of the last meeting. Roll call
was answered with a donation for
bingo games to be played at
Restview Nursing Home. Members
will be going to Restview in early
November to play bingo with the
residents.
Treasurer. Bernice Norman gave
her report.
The election of officers was held
Fox. Russ had grown up in the
Brussels area and the couple moved
to London where Russ continued to
work for the CNR and Evelyn at
various businesses.
Evelyn enjoyed family, card
games (in particular euchre) and was
well known for shopping and giving
of gifts to friends and family.
Evelyn was the beloved wife of
the late Russell Charles Fox. She
was the dear mother of Angus
(Butch) Maclvor of Kincardine. She
was the dear sister of Harold and
Marie Lamont of Wingham, Betty
MacDonald and Murray of London,
Jennie and Ken MacDonald, Lloyd
and Muriel Lamont, Gladys Wylds,
George Lamont, Alvin Lamont,
Archie and Virginia Lamont, Kevin
and Darlene Lamont, and Elmer and
Marg Lamont, all of Kincardine. She

Archambault and Lois Elliott. Five
attended from the Auburn branch.
There is some interest in the quilt-
block course. A donation of $100
each was given to Goderich and
Clinton hospitals. A donation was
made to Huron West District. .
Mrs. Elliott convenor of family
affairs introduced Jo-Ann Todd,
manager of St. Elizabeth Health
Care in Clinton.

A discussion was held regarding
the upcoming telethon. It was
decided to make donations to
Clinton, Goderich and Wingham
hospitals, as they are the hospitals
members will use if needed.
It was also decided to give Ila
Cunningham a gift certificate for
making the lovely cake for the 85th
anniversary in September.

friend of Ethel and Joe Brewer and
Mary Lowe all of Brussels, Helen
Lamont of Walkerton, and Gail
Lamont and Evelyn Lamont both of
London. Evelyn is also loved by her
many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her
parents Cole and Lillian Lamont:,
brothers Gordie, Leonard, Colin,
Doug and Norma, her sister Lilly
May and brothers-in-law Elmer
Wylds and Jack Lowe, and sisters-
in-law Vera Hastings 'and Violet
Bowler.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Sunday at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home, 401 Albert St.,
Brussels, where the funeral service
was conducted on Monday, Oct. 25
at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cathrine
in the comfort and convenience of
their own home, workplace or other
community setting.

additional education, certifications
and experience, such as advanced
foot care, breastfeeding
consultation, continence
management, diabetes management,
home chemotherapy. home dialysis,

care.
The next meeting will be held
Nov. 10 at the home of Vera
Penfound. She had assembled the
quilt top and displayed it and the
club will be quilting it at the next
meeting. This quilt is the seventh
made for The Quilt for Breast
Cancer research in Stratford.'
Mrs. Archambault read poems
about Thanksgiving and Halloween
and followed with a contest to find
out who could make the most words
using letters from the word
Halloween.
Mrs. McKee served lunch of cake
and ice cream which was provided
by Ethel Ball and Vera Penfound.

Interment was at Brussels
Cemetery.
Carrying floral tributes were
Dianne Huether and Diane Wylds.
Pallbearers were Glen Lamont,
Barry Lamont, Lee Lamont, Ron
Lamont, Doug Lamont, and Brian
Lamont.
Memorial donations may be made
to the Canadian Diabetes
Association or the McCormick
Home Outreach Services.
PETER McQUARRIE
Peter Anderson McQuarrie of
Brussels passed away Saturday, Oct.
23, 2004 at Wingham and District
Hospital.
Born in Brussels on Nov. 28,
1930, Peter was in his 74th year.
He was the beloved son of the late
William and Mary McQuarrie. He

The next meeting is Nov. 18 at 2
p.m. in Auburn Community Hall in

convenor of Agriculture and
Canadian Industries.

Bureau. _
Lunch and a social time were
enjoyed by all and hostess gifts were
given out.
About 30 friends met at,Stickers
Restaurant Thursday at noon, to
celebrate a special birthday with
Tena Empey. Maxine Seers pinned a
corsage on the guest of honour and
was the dear brother of Mae
Hollenbeck of Goderich, Eileen
Adams of Newmarket and Marlene
Beer and her husband Henry of
Goderich. Pete was also loved by his
many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his
brother, Dick, and sister, Anne Hoy.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no funeral home
visitation.
A celebration of Peter's life was
held at Brussels United Church on
Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 2:30 p.m.
with Joan Golden officiating.
Interment of cremated 'remains
will be in Brussels Cemetery.
As an expreSsion of sympathy, in
lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation.

Happy Birthday was sung.
After dinner a special cake, made
by Carol McDowell, was served
with ice cream. Best wishes were
extended by all.
