Oct. 17 and visited at the home of Bill and Muriel Coultes following the service. Brian, Alison, Autumn, Sydney and Mackenzie Wightman joined in the celebration at the home. Also attending the service were Mark and Janice Matheson and family and Joe Neves of The October meeting of the Belgrave Women's Institute began with the Opening Ode. The Mary Stewart Collect and 0 Canada. President, Kay Roberts, read a Local winner Paul Garniss was the recipient of some awards at F.E. Madill Secondary School's commencement on Friday night. Goat cheese WI speaker's topic Notice of Public Meeting For the New North Huron Official Plan Huron will hold a statutory public meeting under the provisions of Section 17(15) the proposed North Huron Official Plan. TAKE NOTICE that the Township of North of the Planning Act to receive input on The public meeting will be held: DATE Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 7:30 p.m. LOCATION Belgrave Community Centre, County Road #4, Belgrave Purpose and Effect of the Plan The North Huron Official Plan applies to all lands within North Huron and is a statement of where and how development should take place within the Township. The Plan includes text and maps that show how lands will be designated, and the policies that apply. This meeting will be your formal opportunity to learn about the new Plan and ask questions. Following a formal presentation and group discussion, there will be time to speak to a Planner, Councilor, or staff person about any issues of concern. A summary of land use policies as well as changes. Changes made to the plan since the September 28, 2004 consultation are outlined below. How to obtain a Plan or Summary Copies of the draft North Huron Official Plan are available for review at: • Wingham Public Library • Blyth Public Library Copies are available for pickup at: • Huron County Planning and Development Department, Court House Square, Goderich • The Township Office, 274 Josephine St., Wingham The Plan is also available online at the Township of North Huron web site: www.townofnorthhuron.ca Copies of a summary document are also available for pickup, or can be found on the website. Notice of Decision If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan, you must make a written request to: Clerk-Administrator, Township of North Huron, Box 90, Wingham, ON, NOG 2W0 Ontario Municipal Board Powers If a person or public body that files a Notice of Appeal of a decision of the Township of North Huron in respect of the proposed Official Plan, and does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of North Huron before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the Ontario Municipal-Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal. Purpose and Effect The new North Huron Official Plan is being circulated in accordance with the Planning Act and shall affect all lands within the Township of North Huron including: Ward of Blyth (former Village of Blyth) Ward of East Wawanosh (former Township of East Wawanosh) Ward of Wingham (former Town of Wingham) The Municipality has previously consulted with township residents and agencies by means of a questionnaire and a consultation meeting which was held September 28, 2004. The policies of the new plan are very similar to the policies of the existing Official or Secondary Plans which are currently in effect for each ward. These existing land use plans have been consolidated into one new plan which includes a few required updates. Minimal change has occurred to the policies that apply to the urban areas of Blyth and Wingham. In the agricultural area of East Wawanosh, the only major change affects the minimum lot size of new agricultural parcels. The minimum lot size is proposed to change from 21 hectares (52 acres) to 38 hectares (95 ccres) for new lot creation. It is prOposed that surplus farm residence severances not be permitted. Garry Claassen, chairman of the Mornington Heritage Cheese Molesworth, Paul and Karen Cook and family of RR5, Brussels and Mathew and Spencer Stevenson of Auburn. Bill and Muriel's family then gathered for the taking of family pictures, and were joined at supper by Steve and Joanne Robinson and family, Scott, Andrea and Tyler Stevenson. Also visiting in the evening were Don and Elizabeth Stoho of Teeswater. The Sacrament of infant baptism was celebrated at Knox United Church, on Sunday, Oct. 17 as two little girls were received into the congregation. Jim and Pat Barnes welcomed Baptism held at Knox United Church and Dairy Co-op. He and his family operate a dairy goat farm, milking 200 goats in a parlour. There are 170 licensed dairy goat farmers in Ontario producing milk products and several varieties of cheese, that are available in health food stores and larger grocery stores. Many people who have allergies to cow's milk can consume goat milk because it contains less protein. making it easier to digest. It also has 30 per cent less cholesterol and 13 per cent less lactose. Goats are browsers not grazers and very fussy eaters. The Claassens use vegetable-based feeds, with no bi- products or hormones. everyone as they arrived for the service. She told of a WI challenge to wear a blue hat to meetings as Kay and Wilma Higgins were doing. The members agreed to supply some articles for the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario in London. Dorothy then presented the baby girls with a children's Bible and gift. Chris Cottrill read the scripture and Rev. Ethel Miner Clare gave her message on listening, and the persistent women. The choir was accompanied by Elizabeth Procter. Many members of both families were present for the baptism.
