The first early bird bonus draw will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Blyth and District Community Centre. The prize is 10 free sweepstakes tickets — that's 10 more chances to win one of five early bird bonus prizes: an autographed authentic print, an autographed authentic Jean Beliveau vintage hockey stick, an autographed authentic Frank Mahovlich Leafs' jersey and a pair of Leafs' tickets with $500 cash. Only 1,500 tickets will be sold. The grand prize draw will be held Christmas Day for a 2005 pickup of the winner's choice. Or take $35,000 cash. "The truck draw began as a simple idea which has grown to be successful on a scale that the entire community should feel good about. With strong ticket sales this year, we expect to generate enough money to honour our $100,000 pledge to the arena and .community centre," says Steven Sparling, one of the Sweepstakes organizers. The WIN! WIN! Sweepstakes was started in 1998 by Dwight Chalmers, Todd MacDonald, Scott Stevenson and Sparling. At that time all four were coaches in the Blyth Minor Hockey system. The idea was to begin to raise money for necessary repairs at the Blyth and District Community Centre. For more information contact one of the 2004 Sweepstakes organizers: Chalmers, Paul Cooke, Robb Finch, MacDonald, Murray Nesbitt, Darren Richmond or Sparling. Or call the 24-hour ticket line at 523-4256, ext. 229. Cash, cheque, VISA or MasterCard accepted. Net proceeds to the Heart and Soul campaign.
