Brussels Livestock report
Prices for fed steers, heifers stay steady
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Oct. I
were 2.893 head of cattle, 601 lambs
and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers
and heifers sold at prices steady to
last week. Fancy and double-mus-
cled steers and heifers sold $82 to
$88 with sales to $91.25. Choice
steers and heifers sold $77 to $81
and second-cut steers and heifers
sold $72 to $77. The cows trade don
a steady market. On Thursday the
top quality veal sold at prices $5 . to
$10 lower on an active trade while
the , balance of veal sold on a steady
market. The lambs sold under pres-
sure. On Friday all weights sand
classes of stockers sold on a steady
market.
There were 461 steers on offer.
Enoch Martin, Linwood, consigned
fourteen limousin steers averaging
1,459 lbs. selling for -an average
price of $89.94 with sales up to
$91.25. Twenty-one steers con-
signed by Jim Howatt.
Londesborough, averaged 1,452 lbs.
selling for an average price of
$80.73 with his top limousin steer
weighing 1,375 lbs. selling for
$89.25.

signed two limousin steers averag-
ing 1,445 lbs. which sold to

forty-two steers averaged 1,431 lbs.

averaged 1.454 lbs. selling for an
average price of $76.97 with sales to
$82.50. Ross Baird, Wingham, con-
signed four blue steers averaging

price of $75.88 with sales up to
$82.75. Nine steers consigned by
Onias B. Martin, Clifford, averaged
1.199 lbs. selling for an average
price of $75.63 with his top lirnousin
steer weighing 1.140 lbs. selling for
$83.25.
There were 206 heifers on offer.

signed four limousin heifers averag-
ing 1,229 lbs. which sold to Norwich
Packers for $88.25. Twelve heifers'
consigned by Ross M. Barber,
Listowel, averaged 1,333 lbs. selling
for an average price of $79.84 with
his top limousin heifer weighing
1,365 lbs. selling for $86.75. David

blonde heifer weighing 1,265 lbs.

Monkton, weighed 1,085 lbs. selling
for $84.25. Their overall offering of
five heifers averaged 1,069 lbs. sell-
ing for an average price of $76.38.

consigned fifty-six charolais heifers
averaging 1,294 lbs. which sold for
an average price of $74.60 with sales
to $76.25.

hull consigned by Allan 'Stokes.
Ethel, weighed 1,830 lbs. which sold
for $27.50.
There were 196 head of veal on
offer. Beef sold $90 to $100 with
sales to $109.50; good holstein, $90
to $104 with sales to $110.50; medi-
um holstein, $80 to $90; plain and
heavy holstein, $65 to $80. Brian
Eedy, Parkhill, consigned two hol-
stein veal steers averaging 673 lbs.
