PAGE 15 Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Prices for fed steers, heifers stay steady Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending Oct. I were 2.893 head of cattle, 601 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold at prices steady to last week. Fancy and double-mus- cled steers and heifers sold $82 to $88 with sales to $91.25. Choice steers and heifers sold $77 to $81 and second-cut steers and heifers sold $72 to $77. The cows trade don a steady market. On Thursday the top quality veal sold at prices $5 . to $10 lower on an active trade while the , balance of veal sold on a steady market. The lambs sold under pres- sure. On Friday all weights sand classes of stockers sold on a steady market. There were 461 steers on offer. Enoch Martin, Linwood, consigned fourteen limousin steers averaging 1,459 lbs. selling for -an average price of $89.94 with sales up to $91.25. Twenty-one steers con- signed by Jim Howatt. His overall offering of-nine holstein veal steers averaged 681 lbs. selling for an aver- age price of $105.64. One holstein veal steer consigned by Merdell Dairy Farms, Newton, weighed 615 lbs. selling for $110.50. Their over- all offering of two holstein veal steers averaged 623-lbs. selling for an average price of $107.21.
