Run raises $375 for research

Cook; 29th, Rebecca Guy; 30th,
Evan Wesselink and Laura Higgins.
Results for 11 and 12 year-olds
There were 10 tables of shoot in
play on Friday, Sept. 24.
Winners were: high lady, Lois
Chamney; second high lady.
Dorothy Carter; most shoots, Mary
Taylor; low lady, Margaret McVittie;
high man, Ken Spears; second high
man, Bob Grasby; most shoots,
George Inglis; low man, Alice
Nicholson.
The next shoot is Friday, Oct. 8 at
1:30 p.m.

Guest speaker was Jodi McDonald
Adams, occupational therapist at the
hospital, who described the work of
her department. Patients, who must
be referred by their doctors, are
assessed and then prepared for
taking care of themselves and their
families. They learn to use aids
effectively and arrangements are
made for wheelchairs, reachers, etc.
for home use.
Members are reminded to donate
good current magazines to the book
committee for distribution around
the hospital.
The annual Auxiliary bursary will
be presented by president Margaret
Mann at F. E. Madill Secondary
School commencement on Oct. 22.
Anyone interested in becoming an
Auxiliary member is invited to
attend the next meeting on Nov. 22.

WDH Auxiliary meets
East Wawanosh Public School's
Terry Fox Run on Friday, Sept. 17
raised $375. This fell short of the
goal from last year which was $505.
There was a 90 per cent turnout
from families for the annual
harheque.
Students participated in the North
Huron cross country meet held at
Grey Central Public School on
Tuesday, Sept. 21. The school team
did extremely well, being only two
points behind Howick Central in
bringing home the banner.

and District Hospital Auxiliary to
the September meeting held in the
Terrace Room. •
Plans were made for the many fall
activities of the Auxiliary including
the rummage sale to be held arthe
Legion on Oct. 20 and 21, and the
flu clinic held at the hospital on Oct.
26 and 28, where members work at
the reception desk.
A Poinsettia Tea to which the
public is, invited. will be held in the
Terrace Room on Nov. 25.
Afternoon and evening bridge
parties are underway, and Marlene
Leedham will accept 'names of.new
bridge players for either group. The
success of these events makes it
possible for the Auxiliary to
purchase equipment for the hospital
each year. This year's purchase was
