The finances for August were very
poor and the no-smoking bylaw that

negative effects as well.
Now that the Branch is back into

we will strive for some
improvement.

Legion. They held training sessions
in basic drills, basic mapping
techniques, leadership and the
fundamentals of military history and

Captain Grobbo along with seven
other training officers led the
approximately 30 Cadets through
the weekend's activities.

Ah beautiful October — the month
that all sorts of poems of the past
have been written. Leaves and hills,
crops and rivers all undergo changes
in October and have inspired many a
poet to praise the month. It's a month
of change as the earth prepares for
the next season of wonder.
From all that October splendour
comes decay with death and debris
all part of the mighty changes that
come with autumn. With each new
moon the year carries on and the
cycle and circle of life continues.
And if October is not already on
your favourite list it also offers up
two fun times and the gatherings that
are part of our lives — Thanksgiving
and Halloween.
The folks at the United. Church
