Brussels Livestock report
2,766 head of cattle on offer at sales
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Sept.
17 were 2,766 head of cattle, 489
lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed
steers and heifers sold at prices $2
higher. Fancy and double-muscle
steers and heifers sold $85 to $90
with sales to $95.25. Choice steers
and heifers sold $80 to $85 and sec-
ond-cut steers and heifers sold $75
to $80. The cows sold on a steady
market.
On Thursday the veal sold actively
at prices $2 to $3 higher. The lambs
sold on a strong active trade. On
Friday the calves traded on an active
trade. with prices $5 to $8 higher.
The yearlings also sold at prices $2
to $3 higher.
There were 611 steers on offer.

signed four blonde steers averaging
1,345 lbs. which sold for $93.75. His
overall offering of twenty -one steers
averaged 1,388 lbs. selling for an
average price of $89.68. Ten steers
consigned by Schmidt Brook Farms,
Woodstock, averaged 1,550 lbs. sell-
ing for an average price of $77.34
with his top limousin steer weighing
1,355 lbs. selling to St. Helen's Meat
Packers for $91.50. Ray Waechter,
Walkerton. consigned three limousin
steers averaging 1,340 lbs. which
sold for $85.25. Ten steers con-
signed by Allan Sherk. Wellesley.
averaged 1.403 lbs. which sold for
an average price of $84.10 with his

for $93. His overall offering of five
heifers averaged 1,225 lbs. selling

1,620 lbs. selling for $28. Glen

There were 15 bulls on offer sell-

veal steers averaging 650 lbs. which
