Brussels Livestock report
Fed Qtpers. heifers sell $1-$2 higher, Tues.
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Sept.
10 were 2,177 head of cattle, 735
lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed
steers and heifers sold at prices $1 to
$2 higher. Fancy and double-muscle
steers and heifers sold $85 to $89.
Choice steers and heifers sold $75 to
$80, and second-cut steers and
heifers sold $70 to $75. The cows
sold on a steady market.
On Thursday the veal sold at
steady prices on an active trade. The
good light lambs sold $10 to $20
higher with the balance selling
steady to last week's market. On
Friday the calves traded at prices $5
to $8 higher while the yearlings sold
$2 to $3 higher.
There were 354 steers on offer.
Enoch Martin. Linwood, consigned
one limousin steer weighing 1,335
lbs. which sold to Holly Park Meat
Packers for $89. His overall offering
of ten steers averaged 1,376 lbs. sell-
ing for an average price of $84.28.
Eight limousin steers consigned by

aged 1,294 lbs. which sold for an
average price of $84.65 with his top

There were 237 heifers on offer.

blue heifer weighing 1,175 lbs.
which sold for $88. Their overall
offering of four heifers averaged
1,231 lbs. selling for an average
price of $85.10. Five heifers con-

Dashwood, averaged 1,198 lbs. sell-
ing for an average price of $73.29

overall offering of two heifers aver-

lbs. which sold to Dominion Meat
Packers for $80. His overall offering
pf fourteen heifers averaged 1,285
lbs. selling for an average price of
$75.16.
Twenty gold heifers consigned by

averaged 1,322 lbs. selling for an
average price of $74.46 with sales to
$81.25. Muxlea Farms, Woodstock,
consigned twelve heifers averaging
1,383 lbs. which sold for an average
price of $72.86 with their top limou-
sin heifer weighing 1,340 lbs. selling
for $79.75. Two limousin heifers
consigned by Ducharme Farms,
Zurich, averaged 1,345 lbs. selling
for $82.25. Their overall offering of
thirty-four heifers averaged 1,323
lbs. selling for an average price of
$70.40. Corgercrest Farms,
Seaforth, consigned one limousin
heifer weighing 1,220 lbs. which
sold to Norwich Packers for $79.75.
Their overall offering of six heifers
averaged 1,352 lbs. selling for an
average price of $70.31.
There were 169 cows on offer. DI
and D2 cows sold $25 to $30.50;
D3, $18 to $22; D4, $10 to $15; shell
cows, $5 to $10. One limousin cow
consigned by Jayme Reid, Tiverton,
weighing 1,550 lbs. sold to Holly
Park Meat Packers for $30.50.
Nackers Ferme, Earlton, consigned
one holstein cow weighing 1,840
lbs. which sold for $30. One red cow
consigned by Peter Vandeberg,
Caledonia, weighed 1,520 lbs. sell-
ing for $26.50.
There were 13 bulls on offer sell-
ing $18 to $31.50 with sales to
$37.50. One limousin bull consigned
by Bob Perkins, Dobbinton,
weighed 1,740 lbs. which sold fnr
$31.50. Merkley Farms, Wroxeter,
consigned one limousin bull weigh-
ing 2,045 lbs. which sold to Lievinoff
Meat Packers for $26.
There were 211 head of veal on
offer. Beef sold $90 to $110 with
sales-to $112; good holstein, $95 to
$105 with sales to $108; medium
holstein, $75 to $90; plain and heavy
holsteins, $40 to $70. John J.

mental veal steer weighing 590 lbs.
