the 43rd Reunion
It was another great year for the Huron Pioneer Thresher
and Hobby Assocation's annual Reunion in Blyth this past
weekend. Counter-clockwise from top left: little Jesse
'Searson rides his 3rd scale John Goodson engine, built by
the late Bert Mahaffy, in the afternoon parade; the steam-
engine -plowing demonstrations drew crowds of interested
onlookers each day; a pair of young steam enthusiastics get
a front -row seat for all the fun; Gary Courtney, left, with
help from Derek Youngblut prepare the steam roasted corn
Friday evening using the steam shovel, which attracted
quite a crowd as it made its way onto the fairgrounds from
the back field; young dancers gave it their best during the
Sunday afternoon step-dance competition; special events
chair John Lowe sits astride the log to steady it as sawing
competitors, Jayne Ross, left, and Ruth Lowe, John's aunt,
give it all they've got.
