Interest at 1 1/4% per month, or any part thereof will be charged on unpaid accounts as of September 25, 2004 and the first day of each month thereafter. NOTE: Persons who have acquired properties and have not received a tax bill should contact the Municipal Office. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve a taxpayer from responsibility for payment of taxes, nor from penalty for late payment. A post-dated cheque dated September 24, 2004 may be brought to the Treasury Department at any time prior to the due date. A drop box for use after hours is available at the Wingham Town Hall. PAGE 9 Walkerburn women play bingo All former members, their families Auburn Hall. Three ladies of the Walkerburn Club went to the Restview Nursing Home on Aug. 24 to play bingo with the residents. Several games were played. with the winners receiving prizes. The next club meeting will he held at Deanna Snell's home on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 1:30 p.m. to finalize plans for the club's 85th anniversary. and members of the Walkerburn community are invited to a potluck dinner on Sept. 26 at 12:30 at the Auburn's Horticultural Society is holding a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. There will be a draw for the barrels prepared for the 150th Celebration on this date. There is a fee of $20 per barrel. Ballots will be filled out at the hall on the day of the drawing. The entrant must be at the hall to qualify The Auburn Women's Institute meeting is on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. FROM BELGRAVE 10 tables at shoot There were nine tables of shoot in play at the Community Centre on Friday, Sept. 10. Winners were: high lady, Louise Schiestel; second high lady, Mary Taylor; most shoots, Nell Johnston; low lady, Audrey Vath; high man, Jean Deyell; second high man, Jack Taylor; most shoots, Jim Coultes; low man, Gordon Welwood. The next shoot is Friday, Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Anyone requiring information can phone any of the club mem- bers. if their name is drawn. Eighteen barrels will be drawn for. Pick up is the responsibility of the successful winners. Lunch will be provided. Also there is going to be a speaker from Goderich. The topic is on how to feed and care for birds in the winter. At Knox United Church Rev. Pat Cook's message was, The Best of Lost and Found. The Old Testament reading was from Exodus 32: 7-14. Scripture was Luke 15: 1-10. The church had a booth at the Thresher Reunion. Auburn's 150th Celebration committee is holding a meeting at Knox United Church Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. You can still order a video of the parade at the post office, also there are souvenirs left. On Sunday, Sept. 5, a day of celebration was held at the Taylor family farm. Mariah Taylor Riley Gilmar was baptized with Rev. Jeff Hawkins of Wroxeter United Church officiating and Tharon Riley assisting. Mariah is the granddaughter of Bill and Doreen Taylor (Belgrave) and daughter of Marion and Bob Gilmar of Grand Bend. Over 50 family and friends enjoyed a noon luncheon. In the afternoon guests arrived to celebrate a surprise 80th birthday party for Eleanor Dane of Wroxeter. Eleanor is a sister of Bill and Ross Taylor Belgrave. Brittany Haines, Tharon Riley and Rev. Hawkins thrilled the crowd with their entertainment.
