Obituaries ARTHUR WALLACE Arthur Campbell Wallace, a resident of Maplewood Manor, Seaforth, passed away at Seaforth Community Hospital on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. He is survived by his wife Ruth, stepdaughter Dianne McNeil and step-granddaughters Paula and Teresa McNeil. He was the dear brother of Robert and Anne Wallace, Egmondville, and Edith and Harold Vincent, Belgrave. Memories of Uncle Art will be cherished by his nieces and nephews: Della and John Bennett, Bill and Rowena Wallace, Deb and Len Jamieson, Bill Archibald and Audrey, Murray and Joyce Vincent, Don Vincent, Neil and Joan Vincent and Grant Vincent and Judy, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews: Christa and Lisa Bennett, Ethan and Joanne and Melissa Wallace, Erin and Paul Dolmage, Kim and Leanne Jamieson, Dean and Barb, Jayne, Vaughn, Patrick, Angela, Aaron, Margaret, Cole and Garritt Vin- cent. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Campbell Wallace, a sister Anna Archibald and her husband Robert, a niece Carol Vincent, a great-niece Shannon Marie Vincent, a great- nephew David Bennett, and a step- son-in-law Jim McNeil. Arthur was born on Sept. 23, 1913 at Lot 2, Conc. 4, Tuckersmith Twp., where he grew up and farmed the land he took over from this parents, land which had been purchased from the Canada Company in 1858 by his pioneer grandparents, Samuel and Annie McBride Wallace. Arthur sold the family farm in 1973 when he retired to Egmondville and in 1977 he married Ruth Krotz Kirkby. Throughout his life Arthur was active in Egmondville United Church serving on the session and on the board of stewards. He took his father's position on the board of Egmondville Cemetery, following his father's death. Arthur's interests included love of hockey, horses, rug hooking, playing the harmonica, and most of all people. The family received friends and relatives at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth on Thursday from 7 - 9 p.m. Pastor Stephen Hildebrand officiated in a service of remembrance and thanksgiving for the life of Arthur at Egmondville United Church on Friday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. The service included a tribute written by niece Della and a rendition of Amazing Grace by Bill Strong. Interment was at Maitlandbank Cemetery. Pallbearers were Murray Vincent. Don Vincent, Neil Vincent, Grant Vincent, Bill Wallace and Bill Archibald. Flowerbearers were Della Bennett, Deb Jamieson, Margaret Vincent and Lisa Bennett. Following the service a luncheon was held at Egmondville United Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Egmondville United Church or Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation.
