Bruce County 4-H holds George Fox concert The Bruce County 4-H Association will host a George Fox concert on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Teeswater Culross Community Centre, Teeswater. Fox will feature songs from his newly-released CD, Canadian, as well as favourites from past releases. A three-time Juno and four-time Canadian Country Music Award winner, Fox's accomplishments include 23 top 10 and two number one Canadian Country Radio hits. Canadian is Fox's first CD in three years, with 12 new songs that reflect his personal discovery of Canada. "I felt it was time to stand up and show some recognition for the places and people of this country," said Fox. "This is my way of taking my hat off to thank Canadians for supporting my career for the last 15 years." Fox, who currently lives in Ancaster, credits his time as a 4-H member in Alberta for giving him the confidence to be a performer. He hopes that this seven-location con- cert tour will allow local 4-H Associations to raise money to sup- port the many 4-H activities he enjoyed as a youth. The concert is being held at the Teeswater Culross Community Centre, Teeswater, starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and can be obtained from Donna Bridge (519) 395-5010 or Lisa Thompson (519) 291-9334. Proceeds will support the Bruce County 4-H Association and 4-H Ontario. In 2005, 4-H Ontario will be cele- brating its 90th anniversary. In 2003, almost 7,000 young people between the ages of 10 and 21 participated in over 13,000 different projects. Through the dedication of over 1,500-screened volunteers, members participate in a variety of projects where the emphasis is on "hands-on" learning and fun. 4-H Ontario is dedicated to the personal growth of young people by developing their self-confidence and teaching them skills in leadership, public speaking and team building.
