(Elyse DeBruyn photo) Locals named Madill scholars Blyth competing for 2006 national RV campout By Bonnie Gropp Citizen editor Blyth is competing for the chance to host the 2006 national RV camping association campout. - Clerk-administor John Stewart told North Huron councillors Monday night that he. along with director of recreation/facilities Dan Cousins and Blyth arena manager Dave Cook had met with representatives this week. The Blyth campsite is one of two being considered with the other being Markham. Stewart said that initially, the representative had stated he felt Blyth would not have what the group needed. However, following the tour of the campgrounds, he had changed his mind. "He said he was impressed." Stewart said they are currently putting together a preliminary package. A final decision will be made in August, after which the national association president will visit for a formal presentation to be made. One drawback, according to Stewart is the size of the sites. "We could double them, but that decreases the number of sites with water and hydro." The total number of sites needed is 800.
