Brussels Livestock report
Thursday's veal sells $5 to $10 higher
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending July 2
were 1,335 head of cattle, 335 lambs
and goats.
On Tuesday the fed steers and
heifers sold at prices $1 lower.
Fancy and double-muscle steers and
heifers sold $82 to $88 with sales up
to $90.25. Choice steers and heifers
sold $75 to $80 and second-cut
steers and heifers sold $70 to $75.
The cows sold on a steady market.
On Thursday the veal sold at prices
$5 to $10 higher. The lambs sold on
a good steady active trade. On
Friday calves and yearlings traded
on a strong active market.
There were 471 steers on offer.

The Brussels 4-H Beef Club went
to Paul Coultes's house on June 16
and judged a pen of market heifers.
When they finished giving their rea-
sons, they judged four clumps of
hay.
Then Mr. Coultes showed two
videos.
Forbes Livestock Ltd., Wiarton,
averaging 2,180 lbs. selling for an
average of $28.31 with sales to
$32.50.
There were 122 head of veal on
offer. Good Holstein sold $85 to
$95; Medium Holstein, $60 to $80;
Plain and Heavy, $40 to $50. Twenty

Thamesville, averaging 679 lbs. sold
for an average of $88.53 with sales
to $94. Ten veal consigned by Mark

The all-you-can-eat barbecue for
$7 is at noon, then it's on to see the
beef operation of Elmer Martin.
