Graduation is a time for making
friends and appreciating the ones you
have!
As we move from public school to
high school I am sure we all have
dreams and aspirations. Dreams for
our future in academics, for our
future careers, for our future relation-
ships, and for our future in general.
Some of these dreams may be harder
to reach than others but with some
hard work and a bit of luck our
dreams will come'true. Graduation is
a time for creating hopes and looking
forward to the future!
As we go forth from this school
memories are what we will take with
us and are what will last us forever.
Memories of class trips such as
Andrew eating five Big Macs in
one sitting, memories of
sports teams like when the
girls team nearly reached
the basketball finals, and
memories of all the fun
things we have done at
school.
This year we have been not-
ing all the lasts we have had at
our school. Our last dance, our last
track and field, and our last class trip
together.
Yes, we will remember our lasts.
but what about all the firsts we have
had at our school? The first time we
tied our shoes by ourselves, the first
time we wrote our name, or the first
time we lost a tooth. There have been
so many firsts for each of us that it
would take forever to name them all.
Graduation is a time for remember-
ing, and a time for making memories!
We are the graduates of 2004, we
are the ones who are reaching a mile-
stone in our lives but what about the
people who helped us get here? Our
parents, our teachers, our mentors,
and our good friends. These people
have guided us, taught us, and helped
us in any way they possibly could.
They have encouraged us and helped
us be who we are. Our teachers have
been inspirational. They have
brought forth in us the passion to
learn, and have committed them-
selves to helping us be better people.
Without them we would not be able
to stand here, with out them we
would not be here graduating.
Our parents deserve this
graduation night just as
much as us. They were the
ones who sat there for hours
when we were struggling
with reading or math. They
were the ones who made our
lunch and who gave up days of
work just so they could go on our
class trips. They were the ones who
stayed up late at night to keep us
company when we were finishing a
project and they were the ones who
let science experiments be done in
their kitchen. Graduation is a time for
saying thanks!
Graduation is a time for moving up
in the world. It is a time for us to rec-
ognize our accomplishments and a
time for us to celebrate. It is a time to
look forward for what is to come and
a time to remember.
This graduation is our first and last
together. It is bittersweet. In the
words of an unknown poet:
School's out,
Memories past,
Don't ever doubt
Our friendship will last!
