PAGE 15 Agriculture Brussels Livestock report • 2,108 head of cattle sold through week Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending June 18 were 2.108 head of cattle. 866 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold at prices $2 lower. Fancy and double-muscle steers and heifers sold $85 to $90 with sales up to $94.25. Choice steers and heifers sold $78 to $83 and second-cut steers and heifers sold $74 to $77. The cows traded at prices steady to last week. On Thursday the good veal and the heavy veal sold on a steady market. The plain veal sold under pressure. The lambs sold on an active market with lower prices. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a steady market. There were 633 steers on offer. Amos M. Martin, Wallenstein, con- signed three Limousin steers averag- ing 1,338 lbs. which sold for $94.25. His overall offering of twelve steers averaged 1.338 lbs. selling for an average price of $81.13. Flax Processing, Aug. 21-27 is a long and labour-intensive process which involves the whole farm fam- ily. The summer concludes with Tramps and Travellers, Aug. 29 - Sept. 3. In, mid-19th-century Ontario, villages such as Berlin saw many tramps and travellers come to town. Some were peddlers, selling everything from spices to tinware to patent medicines, and some were itinerant artists, calligraphers' and actors. In the upper gallery this summer is FroM Decoy to Decorative which features the work of wildfowl carver Al . Forler. 2004 Folk Artist-in- Residence.
