The Weekend to End Breast
Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre
walk through the neighbourhoods of
Toronto. Money raised will benefit
breast cancer research at Princess
Margaret Hospital. an international
leader in the fight against cancer,
and the largest institution in Canada
devoted to cancer treatment,
innovative research, and informative
education programs.
"I am walking for the women of
my community, my family and my
friends whom have been or may in
the future be affected by breast
cancer" said Henning. "I am walking
as a public health physician, for
those who may have an increased
risk for cancer because of
'-'^n their poverty, lack of nutr w.. andu
lack of access to health services."
During The Weekend to End
Breast Cancer, thousands of women
and men will walk 60 kms. in a bold
display of courage and commitment.
Money raised by event participants
will benefit Princess Margaret
Hospital in Toronto, funding
important breast cancer research and
education, and cancer care services.
This past weekend,- Princess
Margaret Hospital announced that
the $8.5 million net proceeds raised
last year during the first inaugural
Weekend to End Breast Cancer
Event will be divided between three
innovative programs: Survivorship
Care, leading edge cancer research
at the newly formed Institute for
