The second tax installment
for the Township of North
Huron is due on Friday, June
25, 2004. Interest at 1 1/4%
per month, or any part
thereof will be charged on
unpaid accounts as of June
26, 2004 and the first day of
each month thereafter.
NOTE: Persons who have
acquired properties and
have not received a tax bill
should contact the
Municipal Office. Failure to
receive a tax bill does not
relieve a taxpayer from
responsibility for payment of
taxes, nor from penalty for
late payment.
A post-dated cheque dated
June 25, 2004 may be
brought to the Treasury
Department at any time prior
to the due date. Drop boxes
for after hours at the
Wingham Town Hall and the
Blyth Library.

Department in regards to the
various payment options
available.

Local darters do
well at Nationals
June 8 - 10 was the Canadian
National Dart Championships held
in Summerside, PEI.
Local area man John Verwey and
Anita Little from Brussels competed
in the mixed doubles event. John and
Anita had a successful showing with
a joint ninth-place finish.
John competed in the singles event
and finished second to John Part who
was his men's double partner. The
pair are the Canadian National
Men's Doubles Champions.
Mr. Verwey, Mr. Part and Miss
Little were members of the Ontario
team, competing for the Canadian
National Championships. Ontario
has defended its title and retained the
gold medals. The Ontario Team is
the Gold Cup Canadian National
Champions.
The eight Ontario team members
also won the Nordor Cup that was
competed for on June 11, by
knockout.
The Ontario team won all their
matches to obtain the Nordor Cup.
Congratulations John and Anita.
And congratulations to the Ontario
team for a job well done. More will
be provided next week when details
become available.
There will be village
beautification awards in honour of
the 150th Celebration. Prizes will be
awarded on Saturday, July 24. This
.is sponsored by the Auburn
Horticultural Society and the 150th
Celebration committee.
The Auburn Horticultural Society
need volunteers to' water flowers
during the summer. This is an
opportunity for high school students
to get those volunteer hours. To
volunteer contact Maxine Seers or
Marg Fraser.
Auburn's 150th Celebration
requires volunteers for the
celebration weekend in all areas
including the children's activities.

At Knox United Chtirch, Rev. Pat
Cook's message was on Graceful
Living. Scripture readings were
Luke 7: 36; 8: 3.
The Sunday school children
received their achievement awards.
The children thanked the teachers.
The last Sunday in June a picnic is
being held at Camp Menesetung.
Both Auburn and Londesborough
congregations will be attending.
Get well wishes were appreciated
by Marg Fraser who had knee
surgery last week. Surgery went well
and Marg is recovering at home.
Condolences to the family of Jim
Lawlor who passed away on June 7.
He will be sadly missed by family,
friends and neighbours.

Elwyn Good of RR3, Auburn, who
passed away on June 2 at the
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital in Goderich. He will be
"-gaily missed by family, friends and
neighbours.
