Turning off your screens doesn't have to be a week-long challenge only. Watching less TV, spending less time on the internet, and playing video games less often, can become a part of your family's lifestyle. "As many of the families that participated in the challenge experienced, when you turn off the screen, you find extra hours in your day that can be spent on a wide range of activities", said Kim Ross, public health promoter, Huron County Health Unit. "Families can spend more time doing activities that are good for their health, such as spending time with each other, reacling, and being physically active. Any activity that gets you and your family turning off the screens and getting more active will help nurture healthy hearts and minds. Life without TV Since the warm weather is finally here, the Huron County Health Unit in conjunction with Take Heart Huron, as well as the Grey Bruce Health Unit and the Perth District Health Unit, held a Turn off the Screens campaign week from April 19 - 25.
