Brussels U-6 teams play
The Brussels. U-7 team played a
great game against Newton on
Tuesday, June 1.
Brussels had its first goal of the
night scored by Kai Heimstra. Then
there was a great save in the net by
Mitchell Kellington, when Newton
had a breakaway. Heimstra was able
to score a second goal with a third
goal being scored by Wyatt
Ducharme right before the end of the
first half.
The Brussels U-11s played Elma
II recently. Playing goalie
throughout the night were Erie
Dywer, Cameron Stewart, Patti
Blake and Emilee Kerkhof. Each
one worked hard for the team.

Although prevailing wind made
the game a little more difficult, the
U-6 Brussels houseleague II and IV
put forth a great effort, but it was the
latter with the 8-1 victory.
Nic Zwep scored the only goal for
Brussels 11 and an excellent
goaltending effort was done by
Connor denDekker, Heather
Hastings, Zwep, Tyler Cronin and
Jessica Johnston.

It was a great soccer game for the
Brussels U-6 Ills May 26. Kailey
Wheeler, Jenessa Neill and Konrad
McArter all scored goals for the
team.
Daniel Fritz was goalie for part of
the game making many great
saves.
The Blyth Tykes A ball team
enjoyed its second win of the year
recently. Their record sits at two
wins and one loss. In the first inning
Blyth let five runs in against
Seaforth A, coming back with eight
runs.
Next inning Blyth held tight only
letting in two runs and coming back
with four. The third inning they let
four runs in, but Seaforth held tight
letting Patrick Wood and Chad
Wheeler home. For the final inning
Seaforth was strong at bat and
brought five runs home. In the final
bat for Blyth they were hitting like
wild men and the game stopped after
10 batters brought in seven runs.
This meant a victory for Blyth of 21-
16.
The team looks forward to the
next game.

Brussels Houseleague U-6 Ns
played against U-6 II last
Wednesday with another great win.
The final score was 7-1, with goals
scored by Delayna Smith and Logan
Kellington• each kicking in one,
Carlie Ducharme scoring two, and
Derrick Waechter with his first
hattrick.
Stopping the other team from
trying to score were Waechter,
Dylan McNeil, the Strome sisters
and Alexandra Martin.
Nic Zwep scored the goal for
Brussels II.
Smith took a ball in the eye, but
continued to play the game and score
a goal.
Play resumes every Wednesday
night at 7 p.m. behind the Brussels
arena.

Wednesday night, June 2, the
Brussels U-6 I minor soccer
houseleague team coached by Jamie
Hiemstra, played at the BMG arena.
It was a good game which they won
13-1.
They played against Brussels III.
coached by Shari Evans.
Goals scored by U,6 I were
Matthew Clarke (five), Gregory
Ward (Four), Faith Sebastian (two),
Eric VanNes (two).
This was their third game this year
and they are doing very well. It was
a great team effort.
