We wish Mandy Mitchell a speedy recovery' as she is recovering from knee surgery. We also hope Doug Mitchell comes along after being in On the seventh Sunday of Easter, the small group of worshippers at Duff's United were welcomed by Marilyn McDonald and grandson Andrew McDonald. The senior choir sang the anthem The Spring Has Come. Rev. Joan Tuchlinsky's time with the children concerned how people are not just baptized into the church family. but the whole church community. Duff's is part of the Brussels Presbytery and they all try to work together on things. They are planning special and youth events hospital again last week. He is home and needs to take it very easy, so our best wishes go out to him. A correction to the confirmation of Kyle Griffith, Nicole Williamson and Laura Bowers. It was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wingham not St. Ambrose in Brussels. Congratulations to Keith Siemon Farm Systems. They were awarded the Top Dealer Award at a recent convention for the Ontario, Manitoba and Michigan district for Houle Manure Handling Equipment. A prestigious honour for the company from Slabtown. Congrats to Keith, Pauline and their staff. Changes. changes, it's hard to keep up. Jeff Dalton and Michelle have moved to the former Campbell for the upcoming year. Rev. Joan's reflection was on songs that sustain faith. Everyone has a song that has a special meaning or place in their thoughts. She asked the congregation for theirs. Some of the songs were Will Your Anchor Hold?, Guide Me 0 Thou Great Jehovah, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, Silent Night, Make Me a Channel of Your Peace and Jesus Loves Me. Rev. Joan had a little history about the songs and their authors and congregants sang the first and last Wey house and the next thing you know, the house and barn on the Dalton property has been taken down. Clean up and preparation for a new home is happening and we look forward to watching the progress on Canada Company Road. We send out get-well soon wishes to Evelyn Blake, who has been in hospital and hope to see her out and about real soon. The Ontario Early Years class had only three little ones attending this past week. Emma Taylor matched all the mommy animals to the baby animals and she knows all the names. Caden Lee worked on his cutting and is getting quite good at it. Everyone is waiting for young Owen Taylor to take his first steps verse of all the above-mentioned hymns. The offering was collected by Karen Hoegy and Neil McGavin. Announcements included an urgent need of donations for the food bank. Items can be left in the basket in the foyer or at the grocery store bins for the food bank. Any donations for Jennifer Black and Chad Spaulding's wedding gift need to be left at McGavin's or Walton Inn this week. The Sunday school wrap-up party will be Sunday. The children are which will be very soon. Howard and Audrey Hackwell had lunch in Stratford with cousin Ethel Fuller before she moved to Barrie on Saturday. Ethel is from Mitchell and was my Grade 4 teacher arkd neighbour for many years. Travelling to Winnipeg for the weekend were Graeme and Helen Craig where they attended the wedding of Mark Bachert. The last full weekof May saw lots of birthday celebrants: Abby McGavin, Jessica Pennington, Alexandra Humphries, Halley Bachert, Mary Pennington, Rod Fritz, Darrell Dalton, Phyllis Mitchell, Teagan McGavin, Scott McDonald, Howard Hackwell, Mildred Traviss, Jennifer Black and Thea Rijkhoff. asked to come in outdoor clothes for games and treats. The flowerbeds look wonderful after Gloria Wilbee spent Wednesday weeding and working them up. The fundraising committee met last week to firm up details of the calendar they are working on for the fall. Any member of the community wishing to have their birthday and/or anniversary dates included needs to contact Marie McGavin or Marilyn McDonald as soon as possible. Included dates are 25 cents each. FROM WALTON Baptism theme of children's discussion WLS students get creative this month Their family invites you to celebrate with them Friday, June 4 Lucknow Community Centre 8:00 pm to I:00 am The students at Walton's Little School have been very busy creating and learning this month. The senior pre-school Acorn class has been exploring the world of the dinosaurs. They have learned many of the long names for these giants . and have enjoyed creating their own dinosaurs and going for dinosaur digs. Flying overhead are the Shining Stars (junior pre-school) as the class discovers the various modes of transportation and they plan their trip around the world. This creative clasS has used large boxes to construct a Reading Garage, car wash and various vehicles. They have begun to The Walton Women's Institute met at the home of Leona McDonald with all members present. The Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect were repeated followed by a thought for the day. Shannon McGavin was the guest speaker telling of the early literacy program at the Walton Little School. She'showed some of the books that are used. Business was conducted. They can jump over candlesticks like Jack and count all of Little Bo Peep's sheep. Walton's Little School's open house is on Saturday, May 29 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. While there enjoy a story with Clifford the Big Red Dog, purchase books at the two book fairs (Scholastic and Usborne Books) and shop at the used clothing and equipment sale. On June 28 there is to be an amalgamation meeting and information will be available soon. The next meeting will be June 9 with a mystery tour. Two Blyth suppers will be held in June and plans were made for them. A plant exchange closed the meeting and lunch was served by the hostess and Betty McCall. L.
