Auburn's 150th celebration
committee meeting will be held June
1 at Knox United Church at 7:30
p.m.
The Auburn Lions club meeting is
to be held on June 2 at 7:15 p.m.
There will not be any news
reported for two,weeks. If you want
any announcements for the weeks of
June 7 - June 18 please provide them
by Sunday, May 30. Either call me at
526-1122 or drop off to my post
office Box 11.
The Seniors meeting is on
Wednesday, May 26. They are going
to Blyth Memorial Hall to hear a
speaker on the Mind and Body.
At Knox United Church Rev. Pat
Cook's message was All May Be
One. Scripture readings were of
Revelations 22: 12-14, 16-17, 21
and Psalm 97.
The UCW meeting is on May 26
to show the quilt and other projects
done over the winter for the
donation to the Children's Aid.
Guest speaker is Rev. Ethel Miner-
Claire froth Belgrave who was a
missionary to other countries.

A letter will be sent to the
Municipalities of Central Huron and
Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh
stating that North Huron will no
longer be plowing snow in Auburn.
When the recommendation came
forward from the public works
committee to the May 17 council
meeting, deputy-reeve Murray Scott
inquired as to the reason.

Big winners
Although not everyone can be the winner, it doesn't mean everyone didn't try hard at the East
Wawanosh Public School track and field day on May 13. These boys placed either gold, silver

Hoping you
will enjoy and

recipes I will be
giving each
month. They
have all been
tested by me in
my home, and
will come from
many sources.
They are easy family food that
teenagers and parents will enjoy.
PINEAPPLE TARTS
2 cups pineapple tidbits, drained
1/4 cup maraschino cherries,
quartered
2 tbsp. pineapple juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
pastry
2 tbsp. butter
Combine pineapple, _ .
juice, sugar, lemon rind. Cut pastiy
into 8 - 5" squares. Arrange pastry in
muffin tins. Place 3 heaping tbsp.
pineapple mixture into each.
Dot with butter. Draw corners of
pastry over filling and pinch
together.
Bake at 400°F for 20 - 25 minutes.
STRAWBERRY CHEESE
TARTS
1/4 lb. cream cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
8-10 baked tart shells
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups sliced strawberries
whipped topping
Combine and beat cheese and
cream until smooth and stiff. Line
tart shells with mixture.
Combine sugar and strawberries.
Spoon into tart shells. Garnish with
whipped topping.
