On Wednesday, May 5 the
Wawanosh 4-H Club started their
new club on social recreation, which
is what people do with others in their
time off. They welcomed their new
members. . Sarah and Bradley
Ritchie, Sean and Melissa Boyle.
Sarah Ritchie was elected president
of the club. The other officers are
Ellen Jefferson as vice-president and
Sophie Jefferson as secretary and
press reporter.
The members learned that social
recreation is anything they do in
their spare time. such as playing
cards, playing catch, and of course.
4-H. June Robinson and Mary Ellen
.Foran showed the members some
games that can be played at social
recreation events, like showers,
church picnics, and family reunions.
The first game the club played was
called Wink. The members formed a
circle of chairs. Next they split into
two groups, with one of those having
one person extra than the other. The
larger group stood around the out-
side and the smaller group sat on
chairs. The person standing behind
the chair which is empty winked at
the others in the chairs, and those
who were winked at tried to make it
to the empty chair without being._
touched by the person behind their
chair. If the sitter is successful in
leaving their chair, the person behind
the one they left becomes the

winker.
The next game was called Animal
Scramble. The members were each
given an animal, like a pig or duck.
Everyone closed their eyes, spread
out and made the noise of the ani-
mal, which they were given. The
members then tried to find the per-
son making the same animal noise as
them. It was very loud and more dif-
ficult than it sounds.
The last game was Who Am I?
Mary Ellen taped the name of a
famous person, like Paul Martin,
Hilary Duff and Don Cherry to the
members' backs. Then the individu-
als started to ask each other yes or no
questions about whom they were.
