succeed in making it. In Acts 16 it
says that St. Paul had plans to spread
the word of Jesus to the people of
Asia, and even had companions ready
to help him, but the Spirit of God
kept intervening and sending him to
other places. Paul was confused by
the thwarting of his plans. but it was
evident that God also had plans.
As an example Rev. Campbell told
of a church group in Australia who
had held a Christmas luncheon to
which some committee members had
invited a carnival group performing
in the area. Later on there was
criticism because the carnival group
had not been mentioned on the
church's mission list. But the carnival
workers received great benefit from
this act of kindness.
Just as Paul's plans were
overturned he heard the message and
headed toward Macedonia and
Philippi. Here he joined some women
in a prayer gathering by the river,
where he met and baptized Lydia. a
seller of purple who invited him to
use her house to establish the first
church in Philippi.
"If you can't go to. Asia, go to
Macedonia, if you want to have a
prayer meeting go where people are,
and don't make judgements on
people", said Rev. Campbell.
In John 5, Jesus was going to the
temple when he noticed a sick man
lying by the pool of Bethesda.
Stopping, he asked the man if he
wanted to be healed, This man had
been trying for 38 years to get into
the healing waters but someone
always stepped in front. Jesus healed
him and continued late to the temple.
"So maybe lateness means that you
should arrive at the particular time
that you do, instead of when you
thought you should. It is God's plan",
Said Rev. Campbell. .

Aitchison, Jeff Cardiff, Frank
Schimanski and Maurice Douma.
