As a result, the medical staff would like to make the following suggestions. If you need to seek medical attention on an urgent basis please call your family doctor's office first. Each doctor keeps some appointments each day for urgent care. If you do not have a family doctor, or he/she is unable to see you, then please call the emergency department for advice. They will be able to tell you when and where you can be seen most easily. Wingham and District Hospital Corporation Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Wingham and District Hospital Corporation will be held at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex, Knights of Columbus Lounge, 99 Kerr Dr ve, Wingham, Ontario on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at the hour of seven p.m. (7:00 p.m.) for the election of Directors; for the appointment of Auditors; and for the transaction of other such things as may properly come before the meeting. Elections will be held for a Director in the Central Zone, one Director in the North Eastern Zone, one Director in the South Eastern Zone, and two Directors at Large, Nominations for these positions will be received up to and at the Annual Meeting on June 17, 2004. Copies of the Annual Report, Hospital Financial statements and amended Bylaws may be obtained at the front desk of the Wingham & District Hospital, effective June 10, 2004 and the Annual Meeting. - Memberships granting voting privileges may be purchased at the front desk of the hospital for five dollars ($5.00) prior to five o'clock p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2004. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MAY 20, 2004. iyy Sports U-7s season begins It was a beautiful warm sunny evening- for the start of the Brussels U-7 soccer season.They travelled to play Elma I U-7 at Elma school, May I I . In the first half Wyatt Ducharme made a skillful pass to Tim Waechter who scored. Ducharme went on to score two with the help of his teammates. Kai Hiemstra did a super job keeping the ball out of the Brussels net. To start off the second half some great passes made their way up to Mitchell Kellington who put it past the Elma goalie to score. Hiemstra got a breakaway to score one and came close on ano- ther. Ducharme had a quiet second half in net. The final score was 5-0 for Brussels. Let the games begin The season is up and running for local soccer teams. Madill Secondary School in the midget division include Adam Corbett, who placed third the 100-metre dash, second in the high jump and first in the long jump. Michelle Cousins placed third in the women's 400-metre dash and fourth in the women's 800-metre run. Chris Corbett placed third in the men's 400-metre dash, second in the men's long jump and third in the men's triple jump. Hannah Bjorkmann placed third in the women's final 80-metre hurdles and sixth in the women's final 300- metre hurdles. Brittany Peters placed fourth in the women's high jump, first in the . women's long jump and first in the women's triple jump. Kendall Whitfield placed fourth in the women's shot put, third in the women's discuss throw, third in the women's javelin throw. Adam Young placed first in the men's discuss throw and second in the men's shot put throw. The midget men's 4 x 100 relay team placed second and the women placed first. The Brussels U- I I soccer team had a disappointing start to the season with a 4-1 loss at home against Newton on May 1 I. Newton came on strong scoring four to take a solid lead into the second half of the game. Cameron Stewart had a busy time as goaltender but made some tremendous saves to keep his team in the game. Christine Bone came in to guard In the junior division Pam Cousins placed fifth in the women's 200- metre dash. Alyssa Gowing placed first in the women's 400-metre dash and sixth in the women's long jump. Lauren Spinks placed fourth in the women's triple jump. Kerissa VanAmersfoort placed third in the women's shot put, first in the discus throw and second in the javelin throw. Derik Kruse patted thrid in junior men's 200-metre dash. The 4 x 100 metre junior women's relay team team placed second and the men's relay team placed fourth. Ahsley Warwick placed second in the senior women's high jump. In the senior division, Nicole Meier placed sixth in the women's 200-metre dash, fifth in the women's discuss throw and fifth in the women's 1,500-metre steeplechase. Meagan Campbell placed first in the final 100-metre hurdles, the women's high jump and women's triple jump. Ashley Gaunt -placed first in the women's discuss throw and second in the women's shot put. Amy Cook placed second in the women's final 100-metre hurdles and third in the women's high jump as well as fifth in the senior women's the net for the second half and did a stellar job, shutting out the visitors with able help from her teammates. Brussels had many chances on their opponent's net, but Kristen Grobbink was the only one to find the weak spot. Despite the loss, coach Pam McLean said the entire team played quite well. The squad travelled for a rematch against Newton on May 18. long jump. Deric Kruse placed first and Craig Folkard placed second in the men's 100-metre dash ambulatory. - The 4 x 100 metre women's relay team placed first and the men placed second. Winners from Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton include Andrea Vanderveen who placed first in the junior women's 800 metre run and fourth in the 1,500-metre run. Nadine Riggenburg placed fifth in the senior women's 1.500-metre rub: Jenna Taylor placed first in the senior women's shot put, second in the discus throw and first in the javelin throw. Winners from St. Anne's Catholic School in Clinton include Michelle Hoftyzer who placed third in the midget women's 200-metre dash and second in the 400-metre dash. Darryl Hoftzyer placed sixth in the junior men's discuss throw. U-9s tie Elma squad It was a tight contest at Brussels Public School when the hometown U-9 soccer squad played Elma 2, May 10. Great offence by Brock McLean, Mitch Kellington and Jason Clarke kept the visitors on edge, while the strong defence from • Terran DeLauria and Leah Davidson minimalized their scoring chances. Lane Sebastian and Kristen Pipe made some great saves during their turns in net for Brussels. Sebastian scored the lone home goal.
