That's entertainment
It was a night of music and entertainment as the Heritage
All-star Band brought its Memories of Western Swingin' and
Country Singin' to Blyth Memorial Hall on Friday night. (Vicky

FAM tour
Participants of the FAM tour gathered at Earth Spirit in Blyth
before taking a wagon ride on the Donnelly stage coach.
FAM participants included some writers as well as
representatives from area tourism companies who toured
the area beginning at the Blyth Memorial Hall to enjoy the
student art exhibit and a view of the Blyth Festival stage.

Four area students will be
performing in this year's The
Outdoor Donnelly.v as part of the All-
Day Donnellys vignettes.
Josie MacDonald of the Blyth
area, Cappy Onn of Blyth, Sarrah
Sholdice and Heather Thompson
will play the role of Bridget
Donnelly one evening each during
the scheduled performances.
They will star in the original scene
The Strange and Surprising Worlds
of Bridget Donnelly, written by
Kelly Macintosh. a professional
artist with the Blyth Festival whp
will star as Bridget Donnelly in the
afternoon vignette.
Performances are June 19, 20, 26
and 27, all beginning at 1 p.m.
The Blyth Festival and Village
Bookshop, Bayfield are pairing up
to present an evening of outrageous
comedy, May 29, featuring
Canadian comics Dave Broadfoot,
Nicholas Pashley and Ian Ferguson
at Memorial Hall.
The performance will be followed
by a book-signing with each of these
talented performers and
accomplished writers.
Broadfoot's Old Enough to Say
What I Want autobiography is a
"rousing tribute to Broadfoot's 50
years of entertaining" (Globe and
Mail).
In 2002 Dave Broadfoot
celebrated 50 years in show
business. The man behind Sergeant
Renfrew of the Mounted, Big Bobby
Clobber, Bartholomew X and the
Member for Kicking Horse Pass
tells his own story.
Pashley is a career bookseller and
is well-known•for his sardonic wit. A
beer lover and barmaid connoisseur.
he has selflessly devoted three
decades of his life to the quest for
the perfect pub and the perfect pint
and is willing to share his findings
with you. When he's not making
notes on a beermat he buys, sells and
reviews books for the University of
Toronto's Bookstore. His latest book
Notes on a Beetmat will he available
for sale.
Ferguson is loaded with wry
advice and barbed commentary. He
takes on topics such as Twelve Ways
to Say "I'm Sorry", Rules of The
Road, The Mating Habits of
Canadians and Canadian Cuisine
(and How to Avoid It). Ferguson
attempts to teach you everything you
need to know about how Canadians
really act. Flow to be a Canadian
written with his brother Will is his
latest manuscript.
MacDonald is a student at F.E.
Madill Secondary School and is
volunteer co-ordinator for The
Outdoor Donnellys. She also appears
in the Clinton Community Players
Faith County.
Her passion for theatre has led her
to Sheridan College where she will
begin this fall in the theatre program.
Onn has graduated from the
University of Toronto in the theatre
and drama studies program. She is
also an original cast member
performing at the Grandstand and
will be performing as the young
Anne Lederman in the Spirit of the
Narrows.
Sholdice is a Grade 8 student at
Clinton Public School and
