N. Moore hosts evening UCW
The evening group of the Belgrave
United Church Women met on
Tuesday evening at the home of
Norma Moore with 12 members
present. Lorna Cook conducted the
meeting and welcomed everyone,
then thanked Mrs. Moore for hosting
the meeting. She read a poem on
friendships.
Lillian Campbell and Irene
Lamont conducted the worship with
a theme about home. Mrs. Lamont
opened with prayer, after which Mrs.
Campbell read from Ephesians. The
hymn For the Beauty of the Earth
was sung. Mrs. Lamont read the
'meditation and the hymn Abide With
Me was sung. Mrs Campbell closed
with a Mother's Day prayer.
The minutes were read and
approved.
Mabel Wheeler's card report was
received. She had sent 10 cards.
A request was received from the
Huron County Children's Aid
Society for a donation to help send a
child to camp, and a motion was
made to send $50.
Barbara Anderson used
information from several Mandates
to continue 'a discussion on
overcoming violence. She read how
several churches and groups out
west are trying to cope with
violence.
Muriel Coultes read a letter from
Lori and Paul Hagerman in Jamaica
about the violence they see there,
and what they are doing to try and
curb it.
Mrs. Anderson also referred to a

received several calls over thefts
from vehicles on Mary Street in
Morris-Turnberry. An unlocked
Buick LeSabre was entered and a
cell phone was stolen. The phone
was found a little later at the scene
of a second vehicle theft. A JVC
stereo system and 20 CDs were
stolen from a Chev Lumina along
with a Canadian Tire battery charger
from the yard. This theft is

in Zambia. She also mentioned
about a youth exchange that had
taken part between Canadian and

The community extends
congratulations and best wishes to
Donald and Gloria Dow on the
celebration of their 40th wedding
anniversary.
There were seven tables of euchre
in play on Wednesday, May 5 at the
Women's Institute Hall.
Winners were: high lady, Alice
Nichols; second high lady, Jane
Grasby; lone hands, Viola Adams;
high man. Richard Moore; second
high man, Mervyn Schneider; lone
hands, Allen Edgar.
The next euchre is Wednesday,
May 12 at 8 p.m.
On May 2 an Anderson reunion
was held at the Belgrave
Community Centre, beginning with
a potluck dinner at noon. There were
72 family members present from
Princeton, Milton, Guelph,
Kingston, London, Sarnia,
Shelburne, Hanover, Goderich.
Wingham, Belgrave and various
other places.
Jim Anderson of Guelph and
Millie Anderson of Princeton were
president and secretary-treasurer
and agreed to continue in those
positions for the next reunion in
2006 which will be held in
Princeton.
On Saturday, May 8 the family of
Barbara and Ross Anderson were
home to celebrate Mother's Day.

Roy thorn Peterborough; Nancy •
Ball, Hanover; Richard, Anne
Catherine, Daniel and Sarah
Anderson, Goderich and Sheila,
Brandon and Jordyn Cousins of

On Sunday Rob Roy ran in the
Forest City Marathon in London
