From spring to winter was the
feeling last week as the strange
weather couldn't quite decide on a
season.
Early last week's warm spring
temperatures suddenly dropped by
Friday, giving parts, of Huron and
Bruce Counties another icy, snow-

He said he sculpts anything from
songbirds to birds-of-prey as well as
ducks and decoys.
Lucio said he really enjoys his job.

things that I can come up with. On
top of that I can go at my own pace
at my own schedule, which can have
a down side if you aren't diligent
enough," he said.

hiking and canoeing as well as uses
photos to capture the life-like look
of his master pieces.
Time, dedi'cation and a steady
hand helped him create his
masterpieces.
First, he carves the wood into the
form of a bird then does all the
detailed work like realistic looking
feathers, eyes and feet.
Finally he paints his art with high
realism paint to bring his sculptures
to life.
He said the Sharp Shinned Hawk
is on a pedestal making it two-feet
high and 12-13 inches long. He said
it took him two to three months to
make while the Spotted Sandpiper
took one month.
Of the three he entered in the

another good storm," he said.
"There is always some winter
weather around St. Patrick's Day.
Usually around the middle of March
is when a bad one comes."
He said thunder and lightening
during a snowfall is a warning that
we are going to get some dirty
weather.
"I don't see much improvement
this week, but near the weekend
maybe."
