Keeping up with Mother Nature
With hints of spring in the air last week, followed by a
morning of nasty winter driving on Friday, it's difficult to
know exactly what kind of outdoor activity to do. From left:
Pat Walsh, Nick Good and Tanya Ritchie took advantage of
the wet, but clear roads, on Saturday to get out the bicycles.

The choir anthem was Spirit
Dancing on the Water.
The children's hymn, Jesus Bids Us
Shine was sung while the children
gathered at the front. Rev. Eugen
Bannerman asked the children what
prayer was. Most of the answers were
to talk to God.
He told them of three important
things to pray for: water and God
gave us a lake; pray for a flower and
God gave us a garden; pray for a
friend and God gave me you.
The dramatized gospel reading
from Luke 13: 1-9 was read by
Brandilyn and Wyatt Bearss and Rev.
Bannerman. The teachers and
children went down to Sunday
school.
The Lectionary reading from Isaiah
35: 1-9 was followed by the
responsive Psalm #63 led by Bodie
Craig with the choir singing the
refrain.
The hymn All Beautiful the March
of Days was sung.

Though the draft budget for
North Huron showed an increase
of approximately 19 per cent over
2003, when presented earlier this
month, the end result is expected
to be considerably lower.
Following the special budget
meeting department heads were
instructed to make cuts totalling
$275,000 by the next budget
meeting.
At the regular meeting Monday
night, treasurer Donna White told

What this means for North Huron

adults was Religion and Spirituality.
Spirituality is an inborn thing whereas
religion is manmade. Spirituality is
meaningful honest and
compassionate. The Salvation Army
is one of the most religious groups, he
said. Their mandate is to help those
who are unable to help themselves.
Religion is a way of being together.
There are two different ways of
religion, the Orthodox is to stay the
same and the modern is to go for
change.
Jesus was a spiritual man and not a
religious man. He had conflicts many
times with the religious leaders.
When Jesus wanted to talk to God, He
went outside to the garden under the
starry skies instead of to the Temple.
In meditation we can find
contentment and peace.

was still work to do.
"A number of items have been
cut, but we need another meeting
to see if you want any back in,"
said White.
Council will be taking a look at
the revisions this Friday afternoon.
